The Costa de Almeria region
The province of Almeria is fortunate to have some of the driest weather in Spain, that coupled with almost year round sunshine makes it an ideal holiday destination for everyone.
This is an ideal location for anyone looking for some winter sun, summer holiday, or out of season break. There are plenty of sights nearby for those wanting to go exploring, including Mini Hollywood where they made the spaghetti westerns, the Cabo de Gata bird sanctuary - even the splendid Alhambra Palace in Granada is only two and a half hours drive away.
Mojacar area
Being within walking distance of the Marina de la Torre golf course makes this an excellent location for a golfing holiday, and with more golf courses less than an hours drive away, you can try your hand at them all.
There are plenty of other sporting activities available in the area such as scuba diving, tenis and lawn bowling.
For those looking for a bargain there is a weekly street market in the nearby fishing port of Garrucha, plus in other nearby towns, where you can also buy plenty of local, just picked, fruit and vegetables to enhance your holiday al fresco dining experience.

By air: to Almeria airport (LEI) - approx 50 mins by car. to Alicante airport (ALC) - approx 150 mins by car to Murcia airport (MJV) - approx 120 mins by car Many low cost airlines fly into these airports from, such as Ryanair, Easyjet, Jet2, etc. and British Airways flys into Alicante from London Gatwick (LGW). .
Car hire: can be arranged on-line for collection at the airport - or can be arranged with a local company for airport collection. l Possibility of arranging "over 70" rentals with local company whose insurance covers this type of rental agreement - for local collection or airport collection.
