Marina de la Torre is a quiet and peaceful area, but within afew minutes drive or leisurely walk of restaurants, bars & shops . Turn left to Garrucha for the old town & port, with acclaimed restaurants selling "fresh out of the net" seafood. Turn right to Mojacar Playa for a more modern feel & buzzing night life during peak season...

The Costa de Almeria region
Almeria is located in south-eastern Spain on the Mediterranean Sea.
The coast of Almeria is called the Costa de Almeria and it has around 118 miles of coastline. Because the city of Almeria is near the coast it is generally not very humid making it a lovely place to walk around and enjoy the history.
With an annual average of 3,000 hours of sunshine, the hot climate and the natural protective barrier of the Sierra de Gádor also means that Almeria is one of the most productive agricultural zones in Europe
One of Almería's most famous natural spots is the Cabo de Gata-Níjar Natural Park. This park is of volcanic origin, and is the largest and most ecologically significant marine-terrestrial space in the European Western Mediterranean Sea. With one of the most beautiful and ecologically rich coasts of the western Mediterranean and an area of 380 square kilometres it is one of Spain’s natural jewels.
Mojacar / Marina De La Torre area
Mojacar Peublo, the quaint town up on a hill can be seen in the distance from the roof terrace. Very picturesque, at night the Arab/Andalusian style white houses are lit up beautifully and seen for miles around. During the day it is easy to lose yourself in the twisting narrow streets and alleyways, with balconys overflowing with geraniums, that lead you to the Church square, the bustling market place or the many cafes and restaurants that offer plenty opportunity for al fresco dining, or an ice cold beer shaded by the trees.
How to get there
Fly with low cost airlines such as easyjet and ryanair into Almeria international airport - look out for the exceptional special offers that they have throughout the year. The pleasant drive to Mojacar is through expansive countryside and is very scenic.
If you are keen to see more of the wider area, another option is to fly into Murcia airport and take a longer but leisurely drive down to Almeria and enjoy the fantastic views the coastline has to offer. I would definitely recommend this if you arriving and departing during the day.
Airport pick ups are available, but to really make the most of the area I would recommend you hire a car from the airport.
