The Costa de Almeria region
On the eastern edge of Andalucia lies the province of Almeria. It takes its name from its capital city which lies on the southern coast of the province. The region of Almeria is one of the most charming and unspoilt areas in south-eastern Spain. Enjoying the sunniest and warmest climate in the whole of Europe, it is known as ‘El Rincon del Embrujo’ or ‘the corner of enchantment’. This is the real Spain!
Almeria, despite its rugged landscape has become an important growth area and it is well known for the quality of its oranges and white grapes, most of which are exported from its port.
This Andalucian province is blessed with the longest stretch of quiet beaches and tiny hidden coves with perfectly clear water. Because of the diverse landscapes, the range of sports activities is endless from water sports to hiking, paragliding, horse riding and golf.
Almeria is the region in Spain with the greatest number of cloudless days, exceeding 3000 hours of sunshine during the year. Its average temperature is 18º and during the summer the average is 24.6º. The waters here are almost crystal clear and usually warmer than the air.
All in all, Almeria offers a diverse landscape with some excellent beaches, beautiful countryside and a wealth of history. The province is surrounded by the provinces of Granada, Murcia and Malaga, and no trip is complete without a trip to the Alhambra Palace.
The Mojacar / Mojacar Playa area
Undoubtedly the most romantic and picturesque resort town in south-eastern Spain, the white-washed houses and cobbled streets of Mojacar are sprinkled atop a hill overlooking pristine sandy beaches, washed by the warm Mediterranean. This unspoilt ancient Moorish fortress town has been a favourite with artists and writers for many years, and now attracts holiday-makers who fill up the hotels and villas which have proliferated along the nearby stretch of beach, fortunately not yet to the detriment of the town’s appearance or beguiling atmosphere. The village centre is honeycombed with narrow casbah-like cobbled alleyways, which hide many quaint surprises, like a Roman fountain pumping fresh spring water and the unusual fortified church of Santa Maria.

Almeria airport is only 45mins drive away.
Murcia airport is about one hour away.
Alicante airport is about an hour and a half away.
We recommend that you rent a car as this will give you total freedom to explore the beautiful Andalucia area.
We use Europcar and find them to be the most reasonably priced.
There is however a good bus service now that takes you around Mojacar and into the local villages.

The stay at the villa was like a Home away from Home. The lounge area was very comfortable along with a fireplace, and TV with surround sound and even a selection of films . We all looked forward to coming home from a busy sight seeing day. My son enjoyed his own room and having a second bathroom was a pleasant bonus. The view from the roof top was fantastic and you had 180 degree view of the sea which over looked well kept gardens and a shared pool. The kitchen was well equipped. I liked having my own parking space. I have no negatives just positives about our stay.

Well equipped property with Wifi and Sky. We brought our Sky card and were able to see our favourite channels. With wifi we could keep in contact with home via Skype and Viber.
The property is set in beautiful well maintained gardens with a pool. Very comfortable and tastefully furnished interior.
Mojocar beach is very busy with young people at this time of the year, especially near the beach club, but Mojocar town set in the hills above is an absolute gem and a must see. I would recommend a visit to one of the town's hill top restaurants for spectacular views.

From the very first friendly and informative emails we knew that this place was going to be a winner. Dorothy made it sound like she wanted us to visit her home - this was further supported by the information left for all visitors - it was like visiting a friends house whist they were away!!!
As to the apartment itself, spacious, clean - (gleaming bathrooms!!) and high quality furnishings. Good location and great views.
Would we go back?? You betcha!!!!!
Thank you xx
