This beautiful unique mountain villa is found nestling in the foothills of the Sierra Cabrera mountain range with its spectacular views across the mountains and valleys.
Torre de Cascada is an individually designed luxury villa built in the Moorish style which is typical of this area. It is in its own large plot offering good separation from adjacent properties. Although with all modern comforts and amenities its appearance is that of a grand medieval Moorish villa. Large intricately carved arched windows allow access to three separate terraces that each have a magnificent uninterrupted view of the surroundings.
The imposing double entrance gates bounded on one side by a natural rock outcrop lead to the large split level front terrace. Natural cane screen canopies shelter you from the sun whilst you relax with a drink and eat alfresco. From here you can also look down into the shaped pool with its adjoining whirlpool pool. This can also be used as a children's pool. The pool terrace has a large luxury wind-out awning for sun protection.
Next to the whirlpool there is a large Caribean style sun shade to add character to the area.
All floors including the spiral staircase in the tower are marbled. The large lounge/diner has 3 double sliding windows to afford plenty of cool breezes to waft through from the terraces and balcony. For the winter months there is a wood effect gas fire built into the feature fireplace.
All bedrooms and the lounge are airconditioned. There are two bathrooms and one shower room.
The immediate area is a select develoment of individualy designed villas near to the Moorish castle and village devlopment that has restaurants and a bar.
The villa is ideal for couples wanting to get away from the hustle and bustle or for families with children who can play in the pool and grounds. It is a short trip to the lively beaches and offers the best of both worlds.

The main front olive wood door leads to an entrance area, off of which are two bedrooms and a bathroom. All floors are pink or white marble.
The furniture is in traditional Spanish style. The house has been left deliberately uncluttered to reveal the unique architectural splendour.
Bedroom One has two single beds and a built in wardrobe. Large shuttered doors in this bedroom lead directly back onto the front terrace. Bedroom two has a double bed and built in wardrobe. Shuttered windows open to an uninterrupted view of the adjacent mountain olive groves and goatherds.
The bathroom is in blue mosaic tiles with bath/shower, toilet and washbasin.
Leading from the entrance area through an archway down marble steps is the main lounge/dining area. This well lit room has three double sliding window doors each surrounded by carved archways supported on turned columns. One window leads to the front terrace. A second gives access to the adjacent front balcony. The third leads to the equally large rear terrace, which has the luxury of a large retractable canvas awning to protect you from the shade.
The lounge area has a feature fireplace with a log effect fire provided for the few winter evenings when it is needed. A CD/Radio player and Full Satellite TV with al UK channels are provided.
There is a large glass dining table with six chairs . The comfortable curved settee seats 5.
For eating outside there are three large metal table with eight chairs on the terraces around the pool.
A further archway leads to the well equipped kitchen with cooker/extractor, washing machine, dishwasher, large fridge/freezer and all normal kitchen utensils The view for those volunteering to work at the sink is superb!
Also leading off of the entrance area is the spiral staircase, which leads upstairs to the master bedroom in the Tower, and downstairs to the pool and poolroom.
The master bedroom has a king-size bed and large en-suite bathroom. The magnificent domed ceiling with its concealed lighting enhances the room. The main double door window lead out via the ornate carved arched to an extremely large private terrace with 360 views of the area. It is only available for high season lets.
The large room next to the pool has a fridge and sofa, which is ideal for a refreshing drink away from the hot sun. When, required, this poolroom can also be used as a fourth bedroom by using the sofa beds provided.
It has a large en-suite shower room. It can be set up with up to one double and two single sofa beds.
From this room you can jump out of your bed into the pool!!!
There is a surcharge per person for occupancy above 6 persons up to a maximum of 8.

A paved area with a backdrop of natural rocks surrounds the pool, which can be reached from either the spiral staircase or terrace steps. The pool and Whirlpool can be illuminated for night-time dips. There are ample sunloungers and sun shades around the pool area.
There are two large terraces at the front of the lounge and one large terrace at the rear. One of the lounge windows opens to a rustic balcony.
The top domed bedroom leads out to a large private terrace ideal for counting shooting stars. Record so far 48 in one evening.

The Costa de Almeria region


Cabrera is one of the most unspoiled parts of the Province of Almeria and has been influenced by the Moors circ. 13th to 15th century. You can see the Moorish influence all around the minute you enter Cortijo Cabrera and you will know straight away this area is unique.
Cortijo Cabrera lies on the Sierra Cabrera mountain range overlooking a golf course valley, and is just a short distance from the villages of Turre, Garrucha, Vera, Los Gallardos, Cuevas del Almanzor and Mojacar.
Cabrera Mountain range is an area partially designated as a nature reserve, It is approximately 20 minutes from the long sandy beaches on the coast, yet in the rural charms of the Almeria countryside.
The Cabrera region offers a wealth of leisure activities for all tastes: swimming, sun-bathing, sea fishing, scuba diving and windsurfing, superb mountain walks, golf tennis, and horse riding. For bathing enthusiasts, there is a marina at Garrucha. Within a 2 hours drive you are on the slopes of the Sierra Nevada.
The Mojacar / Cabrera area
Local amenities consist of: - Cabrera Castle, tennis courts, horse riding, restaurants, golf course, fantastic mountain walks, caves, ten minutes drive to Mojacar beach, which has beaches with water sports and entertainment’s and also wilder untouched virgin beaches.
The breathtaking vistas of Sierra Cabrera make it one of the most spectacular areas not far from the beaches of Costa de Almeria. Visitors to the area are enchanted by the stark grandeur of the hills and mountains, the fragrant beauty of the orange and lemon groves and almond trees nestling among the foothills. The tranquillity is only disturbed by the distant chiming of bells of the herds of goats and sheep which, tended by their shepherds, timelessly roam the countryside.
Riding stables, golf, tennis bowling and water sports are all within easy reach and for those quieter moments you can relax at the snack bar by the Castle Arch or enjoy a superb meal with a choice of Spanish or Morrocan restaurants, like Los Pastores in the heart of the village. The Sierra Cabrera is an ideal location for those wishing to become full- time residents or just seeking a relaxing break from the pressures of everyday life.
A car is a necessity in the village of Cabrera.

I could wax lyrical about this property for a long time and still not do it justice. I have spent 3 consecutive summers at Torre de Cascada with my family and have already booked again for 2012. The setting is stunning, nestled in mountain community of Sierra Cabrera, the views are breathtaking as your eyes are drawn to the valley below but also the other mountains beyond the valley that seem to stretch for miles. Outside there is a pool and a separate whirlpool/tub/pool which are both perfectly formed and our children, a 10 year old boy and twin 8 year old boys, are always adamant that going in these pools are the highlight of their holiday - they absolutely love them. The house is lovely inside, well laid out, everything works as it should, and the Sky TV facility ensures that Match of the Day and Eastenders aren't missed. However, it's the views that really make this property the gem that it is, not to mention the fact that you are not overlooked and for 99% of the time you could hear a pin drop - it is so peaceful and quiet. Sierra Cabrera as a location is fantastic and its most popular local restaurant, Los Pastores, is sensational - good food in an incredible setting. Torre de la Cascada is the best villa we have stayed at, the pictures don't do it justice and the views are amazing. It was a peaceful and calm place to stay where a lot of thought had clearly been given to making our holiday special. The pool and whirlpool were great and the beaches sandy and clean.
