Home description

Our apartment is on the upper floor in a small block of 8 properties surrounded by lovely gardens, is bright and sunny and offers mountain views to all sides. La Parata is a beautiful area in the foothills of the Sierra Cabrera. Very green and peaceful - no high rise buildings! The pool is for members only, set in landscaped gardens and offers free parasols and sunbeds. There are 2 excellent bars/restaurants within a short walk. Many more restaurants/bars and all the activity of the beach playa is less than a km away.

For golfers, the famous Desert Springs and Valle Del Este golf courses are within a 15 minute drive. Two other courses are only a 5 minute drive away, and many more are available for those willing to travel further afield.

Mojacar is a thriving coastal town and offers many activities, including golf, scuba diving, horse riding, caving, quad-biking and all the water sports associated with the beach. There is a water park at Vera playa (a great day out!) or take a drive and visit the Alhambra Palace at Granada, or Little Hollywood (many Spaghetti westerns were filmed here!). There are lots of beautiful gift shops and boutiques along the Playa and many more at Mojacar Pueblo - a quaint 'sugar-cube' town dating back many centuries showing moorish and christian influences. For those interested in ski-ing, the ski resort of Sierra Nevada is a two hour drive away.

The Costa de Almeria region

This area is the hottest in Andalucia with an average of more that 3,100 hours of annual sunshine. Average winter temperatures generally do not drop below 17c. Costa Almeria is not a developed as other areas of Spain and still offers a taste of real Spanish culture. There is losts of Moorish history to sample and fishing villages to visit. Mojacar itself is a thriving coastal town and has all the amenities you would expect - bars, restaurants, beach activities, shops and supermarkets. The playa stretches for 7km and parts have the famous 'blue flag' status.


Mojacar area

Mojacar pueble is situated in the Sierra Cabrerra mountains and offers spectacular panoramic views. Visit Garrucha, a working fishing port with it's charming harbour and sample some fabulous seafood - Garrucha red prawns or John Dory fish. Almeria is a cosmopolitan coastal city with an historic castle and museums to visit. The Alhambra Palace is a drive away - well worth the trip. Little Hollywood in the Tabernas desert celebrates the spaghetti westerns which were filmed here - the kids will love it. Try pot-holing or caving at the Caves of Sorbas. Lots to do! - or relax and enjoy the sunshine.


How to get there

Check out the budget airlines into either Almeria, Murcia or Alicante. Mojacar is easily accessible from all these airports via the E15/A7 motorway route. A simple drive - much quieter than the UK motorways!

The apartment has recently been fully refurbished - new kitchen and appliances, newly fitted bathroom, air-cons etc. Heating is installed for winter months (although this is generally only necessary in the winter evenings). Cot can be provided on request. We have done our best to make our apartment 'home-fom-home' and provide everything you need to make the best of your stay. Additional items such as tennis rackets, inflatables, a selection of DVD's etc. are also provided. We have an on-site property manager to help with any problems you may experience (hopefully none!). A welcome pack of food items can be provided if you have a late flight arrival.

Further details outdoors:
The balcony catches the sun all day long and offers lovely views of the mountains and garden. We generally eat our meals here, but a second dining table is available indoors. Barbeques are available in the shared garden. The members only pool and tennis court is right opposite the apartment, flanked by Bar & Restaurant La Parata. There is dedicated parking space right outside the apartment.

Please note that this is a first floor apartment, accessed by stairs only and may not be suitable for the elderly or infirm.


Conditions

We ask for a 20% deposit to secure your holiday with the remainder due 6 weeks before departure.
