The Midi-Pyrenees region

South West France offers the discerning tourist a huge variety of holiday expériences from the Atlantic coast to the unique river valleys of the Tarn, Lot and Dordogne and the huge variation of landscapes in between and in all manner of accomodation such as Château Hôtels, unique Gites and Chambre d'hotes.

Vibrant cities such as Bordeaux and Toulouse will delight all visitors with their historical architecture, classic restaurants, street side cafes and chique shops.

Large provincial towns like Agen, Auch, Bergerac, Villeneuve sur Lot, Cahors, Montauban cater for all needs with their historical centres, excellant transport links and comprehensive services.

Medium sized towns such as Moissac, Sarlat, Nérac and Périgueux are quieter but equally historically important.

Numerous hill top bastide villages cover the area, these are remarkable remnants of the English occupation dating back to King Henry II.

Little gems can be found throughout the region such as St Cirque Lapopie, Puy l'Eveque, Lauzerte and Auvillar providing an idealic day out.

Famous wine areas cover the region using a variety of grapes, however the smaller little known vineyards are all waiting to be discovered.

Exquisite recipes served in the local restaurants are derived from the local specialities such as duck maigret & foie gras, goats cheese etc to excite the taste buds and palate.

Moissac

The Tarn et Garonne area is especially unique as it provides the visitor to France an insight into the traditional French way of life without tourism or industry.

Though wine production is secondary to fruit growing it's fertlie soil is extensively used to grow very high quality produce reflected in the local markets throughout the area.

The Toulouse plain to the South and the rolling hills of the Quercy to the north provide a unique landscape interdispersed with traditional villages and towns.

Cutting through the middle of the area is the Canal Du Mers a historical masterpiece of civil engineering linking the Atlantic Ocean to the Mediterranean complete with it's associated towpath now converted to a cycle highway.
