The North Wales / Anglesey region

The island of Anglesey is bathed in history from Druidic settlements, Roman remains, a world heritage castle site at Beaumaris, to Llanddwyn, the legendry home of Santes Dwynwen the Welsh patron saint of lovers.
For those interested in walking there are circular walks everywhere - short, beautiful coastal walks where porpoise and seals can regularly be seen. Or for the hardy try the entire coastal path of 125 miles. The coastline is dramatically rugged in places but also has some beautiful sandy beaches.
Golf enthusiasts will not be disappointed as there are five premier golf courses and four nine hole courses on the island.
Should motor sport racing be a passion, then the Anglesey Race Circuit at Ty Croes (Motor Sport and Auto Cycle circuit) will offer an exhillerating day out .
Your holiday to the island should certainly include a visit to the spectacular dramatic scene of South Stack lighthouse near Holyhead.
The Moelfre area
Moelfre is a very popular maritime village, well known for its famous Life Boat station which is open for viewing . Further interesting maritime information can be found in the Sea Watch centre in the village.
There is lots to see and do in the area. Lovely coastal walks, sailing, diving, fishing and birdlife. For those who enjoy walking there are many coastal walks, a particular favourite walk being over the headland along the cliffs to the beautiful beach at Lligwy, passing the monument commemorating the wreck of the Royal Charter which sank in 1859. Over 400 passengers and crew perished, including one crew member from Moelfre.
Fantastic sandy beaches at Benllech (Blue Flag), Red Wharf and Lligwy are all within a short drive away. Sea fishing off the rocks around Moelfre is an extremely popular persuit with quite a variety of fish being caught.
There are some super restaurants in and around Moelfre, The Ship at Red Wharf bay being especially popular.
