The Sicily region

Why not indulge your senses with a Sicilian holiday? This beautiful island has an abundance of art, archaeology, history, breathtaking scenery and of course excellent food to offer. It is the home of Mount Etna, arguably Europe’s greatest natural wonder, stunning beaches, tranquil vineyards, and ancient olive groves. From strolling through age-old ruins in Catania to spending lazy afternoons on the beaches of Palermo,a villa in Sicily can fulfil your every need.
Explore Messina’s unique Gothic architecture and enjoy its famous olive oil like a local and cook at home in your own self-catered rental villa. Whether you yearn to be surrounded by fragrant orange and lemon orchards on the coast, lush forests in the north-east or the rugged land and rolling hills of the central regions a holiday rental villa in Sicily awaits you.
The Modica area
If you’re looking for a quiet getaway Modica may be the place for you, with its small population and secluded, clean beaches it could be the perfect getaway. Modica is simply jaw-droppingly beautiful. Having been destroyed by a huge earthquake in 1693, the whole town was rebuilt in a Baroque style, giving it a unique, unified style. The town clings to the side of a gorge, with houses, churches and palaces seemingly built on top of each other in a shambolic yet truly appealing style. Modica is off the beaten track in Sicily, which is a huge surprise, yet a real advantage for those who do travel to a Modica villa as the culture is completely untainted.
Walking through the town upon your arrival is a real treat. The whole region has been placed on the UNESCO World Heritage area, with 18 specific buildings placed under protection by them. You will certainly be inspired by the brilliance and beauty of the town, especially when you discover the Duomo di San Giorgio and San Pietro, the Castello della Contea and the astonishing Barocco buildings
The beaches that surround Modica are beautifully empty all year round. The lack of tourist crowds mean that the beaches are clean and secluded, perfect for lazy days in the sun. Tourist facilities are thin on the beaches, but if you want to go sailing or scuba diving, there are ample opportunities.
The secluded nature of the town has meant that the culture is quite unique to Modica. The dialect can be hard for even Italians to understand, and the dishes served in the restaurants, including panatigghie, a pastry filled with meat, cinnamon and cocoa, cannot be found anywhere else. If you will stay in Timparuci holiday farmhouse, a tour of local restaurants will be a fantastic experience, and if you are feeling adventurous, there are plenty of opportunities to take a recipe and re-create Modica cuisine in your own, self catering accommodation.

We had a very enjoyable 5 day stay, villa & pool great. The property is in the countryside south of Modica. Lovely restaurant within walking distance. A car is needed, though when we didn't want to drive, Anthony the onsite staff phoned a driver for us, the same driver that was arranged by the owners for transport from Catania Airport. Thank you again Anthony, Georgio & Mr Massimo we really enjoyed our time with you. |

Wonderful place, Beautiful People !
My children and I, came to Sicily from the U.S., we traveled around the whole island, and stayed in various places. Our favourite place was ANTICA MASSERIA TIMPARUCI. It was the first place we stayed that we felt we could just relax, instead of wanting to leave and explore. We felt right at home and we were taken care of by the owners and thier help. We would highly recommend these accommodations and would want to come back to stay for a longer time. The town is famous for it's chocolate, so if you are going to Sicily, this place is a definite place to stop, relax, eat chocolate and see some amazing Churches! We stayed at other B&B's, a hotel and hostel's, this place is a better price for the quality and serinity you will receive.

The apartments located in a peaceful area just outside of Modica with a few shops and restaurants in walking distance. The apartments themselves were comfortable, well equipped, had modern décor and maintained to a very high standard.
The swimming pool is great too, it was cleaned every evening and because there are only a small number of apartments, we always had the pool to ourselves.
The thing that made a real difference to the time we spent here was the owner Pinella and Anthony who helps her maintain the property. They were always so friendly, helpful and nothing was ever too much trouble.
We have travelled a lot in recent years would highly recommend this apartment as we have never stayed anywhere where that we have been made to feel so welcomed and relaxed, and we will defiantly be returning soon for a longer stay.
A higly recommended property

My family and I stayed at this property for 6 nights in May 2010. It exceeded our expectations and we had a fantastic time. The accommodation was very clean with all amenities that were required, including a great pool with beautiful views. It is very good value for money. Modica is a beautiful city to explore, as is nearby Noto.
The hosts of this property were very welcoming and friendly - thank you! We would definitely recommend this property to friends and family, and hope to return ourselves.

Dear Pinella
We had a wonderful holiday in your apartment and will recommend it highly. The view is fantastic and we enjoyed the lovely pool area and the terrace in front of our apartment. The apartment is very nice and we felt at home as soon as we arrived.
We will definitely come back soon.

A perfect place to visit the South !

We can highly recommend this holiday house for your stay in the South of Sicily ! It is located very central to visit Ragusa ( Ibla at the evening is fantastic ),Noto, Syracuse, the beaches and Modica itself.
The South of Sicily is very cheap, you can see that at once at your bill in the supermarket or in the restaurant.
The apartments are brand new and very clean. The pool is very nice .
The owners are very friendly and helpful.
You can have a massage under the trees if you want, or you can just enjoy your glass of wine at your terrace in the evening , overlooking the hills and the mysterious old farmhouse nearby.
We have eaten the best pizza's ever at the nearby pizzeria Guiliana within walking distance.
The town of Modica has a great atmosphere( although their houses and monuments are not well-maintained, what a difference with Noto - financed by Unesco ) especially in the afternoon and the evening. There is something intresting for every one .The church " Maria Betlehem" and the cathedral are very special . You can eat delicious ice in the "Café dell' Arte" in the main street or you can have diner between the locals at the stairs of the old town in the delicious taverna " Nicastro ".
After all the sightseeing and loads of baroque, we introduced an "afternoon off" shopping with the girls and we returned happily with a lot of bags...
Perfect place to stay
