About the home

The complex houses seven comfortable apartments, all with own entrance and terrace with splendid sea views. Each apartment comes with a parking space in a garage. The bright interiors, characterised by a modern yet simple design, are tastefully furnished, functional and have all mod cons including air conditioning, washing machine, external shower and LCD television.

Its location is perfect to experience a wonderful holiday by the sea, and is also a great starting point for exploring the surrounding area rich in main cities full of art such as Modica, Ragusa, Scicli, Noto and Siracusa; charming coastal villages such as Sampieri, Pozzallo and Marzamemi as well as some of the island's greatest natural beauties, such as Capo Passero, the Cave d'Ispica and the Vendicari nature reserve.

"Excellent property that really corresponded to the description and the pictures provided. Right size and level of furnishing inside. Good location and very pleasant contact person.
Great place with friendly people and lovely beach. Slightly complicated out of season as the shops and amenities in Marina di Modica are really mainly open during high season (mid-June to mid-September). Outside of these dates it requires a car and a bit of planning to do shopping, for example." 11 June 2012


"It was a very nice property, much smaller than anticaped but still lovely. Would recommend to others. Would have been nice to get information about the local area from you upon our arrival (such as local taxi ranks, transport information, opening and closing times of local amenities. FYI we did have a scary misunderstanding with some locals (they told us they were police and were asking for our passports and we didnt know who to speak to.
The area is very quiet which is what we were expecting but the only issue we had that because we didnt speak much italian/sicilian we had a few difficulties branching out to other areas or knowing where everything is and what everything is. It would be more useful if there were taxis available as it was very hard for us to get around. As I said before though, it is a beautiful place and now that I have been I would definitely come back!" 20 Sept 2011

The Sicily region

With its fascinating beauty almost everywhere, lovely coastline, picturesque villages where you can taste the excellent wine and authentic Sicilian cuisine, unspoiled nature and fashionable resorts, Sicily has everything you could possibly want for your holiday!

There are many places which are really worth visiting and spending time in: Cefalu, Taormina and Mount Etna Europe's highest and most active volcano (3,323 meters above sea level) near Catania in the north east of the island, the majestic monuments in the Valle dei Templi (Valley of the Temples) of Agrigento, the beautiful Trapani area and Erice.

On the eastern side of the island is the Baroque architecture, UNESCO heritage site, of Ragusa, Ibla, Noto and Modica. Of extraordinary naturalist interest is the park of Etna. Traditional puppet theatres in the historic centres of Palermo and Catania are good entertainment for all ages.

The Modica / Marina di Modica area

Baroque style and chocolate match perfectly together and make the irresistible appeal of Modica, a charming city that is 15 km from Ragusa and is divided in two areas: Modica Alta (upper Modica) and Modica Bassa (lower Modica). This town, lies between two valleys and on the Pizzo hill, is a harmony of 18th century churches, palaces and buildings (all built according to the late baroque style) overlooking narrow, tiny streets, squares, and stage-stairways.

The most extraordinary example is the Saint George’s Cathedral, that belongs to the properties patronized by Unesco, that faces a stairway of 160 steps.It is just some metres far the Polara Palace (XVIII century) that overlooks Modica Bassa, characterised by the Saint Peter’s Cathedral that embellished by its stairway with the statues of the twelve Apostles. But Modica is also famous thanks to its chocolate that has been made since the eighteenth century.

When this chocolate is amalgamated with vanilla, cinnamon or hot pepper, it is a irresistible temptation. The city has a monumental-looking, because of the past colonizations of Greeks, Romans, Byzantines, Arabs and Normans, but it has also, at the same time, a lively atmosphere due to its proximity of Marina Di Modica, considered a surfers’ paradise. If during the day long, golden beaches offer restful sunbathing, when the sun goes down the bars, discos, restaurants and night spots come alive for fun hot summer evenings.

In the surroundings there are also the locations where the famous TV series “Commissario Montalbano” (a character created by the Sicilian writer Andrea Camilleri) is filmed, like Pozzallo, a town renowned for its sandy beaches, and Sampieri, a characteristic, old fishing village.
