The local supermarket within 15 minutes walk will cater for all your food and drink requirements. The nearest town Laroque d'holmes is a three minute drive where you will find bars and restaurants. Towns of Mirepoix and Limoux offer lively evenings of entertainment and large weekly markets. The nearby cathar castles of Queribus, Chalabre, Puivert and Montsegur can easily be explored and the coastline from Narbonne to the Northern Spanish borders offer a wealth of beaches to discover and enjoy. The local area is very popular with walkers and cyclists and for swimmers, sailors and fishermen the beautiful lake at Montbell is just a eight minute drive away

The Midi-Pyrenees / Ariege region
This most beautiful area of Southern France has over 300 days of sunshine a year. Relatively undiscovered inland there are lakes and rivers offering an abundance of water sports including canoeing, kayaking and white water rafting. There are two 18 hole golf courses - one at St Hilaire the other just outside Foix - which are an approximate 45/58km drive away as well as numerous places to walk, cycle and just spend time taking in the beauty of the surroundings. You can also drive through the countryside following the 'Route du Pays Cathar' and discover the many fortresses and chateaux throughout the region. Winter time ski-ing in the Pyrenees is also very popular. Half an hour away is Monts d'Olmes and about an hour away is the very popular ski resort at Ax-les-Thermes ( http://www.ax-ski.com and http://www.ariege.com).
Mirepoix area
Tabre is just 37km east from the market town of Foix and 56km south of the historic city of Carcassonne. The winter carnival town of Limoux, also famous for its blanquette and the medieval town of Mirepoix are within half an hours' drive, as is skiing at Monts d'Olmes. There is a small Saturday market in the nearby town of Chalabre which also has a Chateau offering a variety of things to see and do. The towns of Mirepoix and Limoux offer lively evenings of entertainment and large weekly markets. During the summer you will find numerous 'fetes' where you can sing and dance the night away. The mountains at Andorra and the beaches at Narbonne are within and hour and a half drive, making them a must see.
How to get there
Les Jongleurs is easily accessible from either Carcassonne (45 minutes drive) or Toulouse (1hr 15mins drive) airports. The low cost airline Ryanair flies into the smaller airport just outside of Carcassonne and both Easyjet and Flybe (plus of course regular airlines such as British Airways) fly into Blagnac,Toulouse. Both of these airports have several car hire operators available.
