Fresh seafood on the seaside, probably the best Croatian lamb in central parts of the island, abundance of fresh seasonal vegetables and wild herbs, famous local olive oil (grown and produced so close to your villa!), sweetest figs and grapes, almonds, cherries, sheep cheese and curd… Make sure to also try Dalmatians' traditional festive dish 'pasticada'– long cooked beef in delicious sauce served with gnocchi; venture to taste a local specialty which is prepared only in few island villages and nowhere else in the world; don't forget to match it all with fresh white wines from northern Croatian regions or rich Dalmatian reds which will fill your glasses with tastes of hot mediterranean sun...
Explore on your own or take a guided “gastronomy tour”, join the wine tasting with our friends the local wine makers, find out everything about olive oil during the Olive trek festival or catch your own seafood lunch on private fishing trip. The Dalmatia region
Dalmatia is one of the most beautiful, yet unspoiled Mediterranean regions. It will amaze you with its clear blue sea and white stone shining under warm Mediterranean sun, as well as with its little towns rich with heritage and cultural and historical sites, all surrounded by the beautiful nature.
Easy-going Mediterranean lifestyle and warm and welcoming local people will help you relax and recharge your batteries with a lot of positive energy!
The island of Brac is situated in the hart of Dalmatia, offering island atmosphere but also excellent connections with the mainland and the biggest Dalmatian town Split.
Villa Maruka is situated in the old centre of the village Mirca, 3km west from Supetar, which is the port for ferries connecting the island Brac with Split. This part of Mirca still has the authentic soul of an old island village. It still has stone houses, narrow streets, and the time you spend here passes more slowly and peacefully. The village is surrounded by old olive trees, orchards and abandoned fields with interesting hiking/biking routs.
The villa is handily placed for exploring the island of Brac and its charming seaside towns, hidden beaches and a beautiful unspoiled nature. One can also take the ferry beck to Split for one day shopping and sightseeing in the Split old town formed in the magnificent 1700 years old Roman palace.

"Absolutely wonderful - highly recommended"
Our stay in Villa Maruka, was splendid. There were five of us - mum, two daughters in their early 20s and two other-halves - and the villa worked for us perfectly. It has been very sympathetically re-stored and is beautiful both inside and around the pool area, with a beautiful bright pink trailing bougainvillea along the front. It has kept its original charm but combined it with mod-cons (especially the vital air con as it was around 30 degrees when we visited in July). We made great use of the bbq/patio area too.
The villa of Mirca is one of the most beautiful on the island - with a church, a little supermarket and traditional farmhouses, and about a 10 minute walk to a little beach/beach bar. The villa has a great view of the sea and over to the mainland.
Sonja, the owner of the property was absolutely lovely. She was very helpful with advice on places to eat (Konoba Kopacina had the most incredible lamb cooked over an open fire) and with things to do (she joined the hire car company rep when he brought our hire car to the villa to do the translating!) She was always on hand to help but gave us the space to enjoy our holiday.
Thank you Sonja for a fantastic holiday. We look forward to returning soon.

"Everything we hoped for"
Villa Maruka is in the centre of tiny village, away from traffic and noise of the busy world. The minute you walk up the steps to the villa you are hit by the beauty of it and the care that has gone into the renovation of the property. The pool is not the largest for the serious swimmers but is plenty big enough for 5 people (as our group was...although I'm sure 6 could fit just as well) to play around. The water was refreshing and the pool even had little jet sprays to massage away the aches.
The sundeck was great although (my one negative point) we could have done with one more sun lounger.
The villa owners had just set up a wifi connection and, although this was not the fastest, did allow us to research trips and keep up with our onward accommodation.
The bedrooms were nice and roomy. Downstairs bedroom was probably the best with ensuite shower. Two upstairs rooms were also roomy with good views from the windows. All the rooms had TV.
To finish the property they have included a lovely patio area with table and BBQ. We ate outside every night and used the BBQ on three occasions. The lights in the swimming pool adding to the ambience of the villa.
Special thanks to the gorgeous Sanja (owner) who helped us book trips and buy tickets for onward connection to Hvar. The latter was particularly helpful as the tickets were purchased by the cleaners on the journey to the island from split and guaranteed our booking for the onward connection. We also hired bikes through Sanja which was useful for cycling into supetar and down to the pub on the beach for sundowners!
I would definitely recommend a stay at Villa Maruka.

The house was refurfished to a good standard. Clean and very well maintained. The swimming pool, though small, was perfect for the children. Surroundings peaceful. The island has lot to do and places to visit. The bonus came from wonderful service from the owner. Nothing was too much to ask. Brilliant advice and attention.

"The Perfect Holiday Home for the family to have fun and relax!"
My Husband, Myself and 3 children (age 7,8 and10) could not praise the service and standards enough that we received whist staying at Villa Maruka. We were greeted by Sanja the Villa Manager who throughout our stay catered to our needs, from arranging a fishing-trip to booking restaurants. The house and pool itself was faultless, furnished to a very high standard, with nice litlle touches like fresh flowers, fruit delivered by Sanja from her own garden to a well stocked mini-bar. The house was light and airy and of course the air-conditioning was great!
We travelled to the Golden Horn beach at Bol which took about 45 minutes, but well worth the trip.
There was a great fish market in Supetar and an abundance of shops and restaurants.
We also visited the beautiful town of Milna which the drive itself gave you stunning views of the island and those surrounding it.

"Fantastic, Amazing, Incredible Value for Money and then some!!!"
The accomodation was so much more than any photo could show you. The service that we received was 1st grade. We would return tomorrow if we were able. A real home away from home with everything you require to make your holiday unforgettable....... All the amenties are beautifully cared for, and the pool is an added bonus if the weather is as fantastic as we enjoyed. I would recommend this as your base if you are looking at visiting the Island of Brac. The people, the area are amazing.......
