House is located on a quiet country lane that becomes a valley side woodland track leading to the stunning Viaur river. Situated in Cathar Country with mediaeval towns, such as Cordes sur Ciel and legendary Najac castle within a thirty minute drive; the house is ideally suited for those searching for a relaxing holiday with a true flavour of history. Ideal for nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts, the region offers ample opportunity for activities, such as, canoeing, fishing, hiking and cycling to name but a few.
The house benefits from its own private pool; leading from the family living room is an outdoor dining terrace, with beautiful woodland and valley views. The spacious country garden is equipped with quality furniture and offers plenty of opportunities for those seeking quiet outdoor moments.
Country restaurants, such as the riverside Port de la Besse and Pont de Cerou are just a few minutes drive away. The town of Mirandol is five minutes by car offering basic amenities, with the town of Carmaux ten minutes further offering all facilities associated with a large town.

The Midi-Pyrenees / Tarn region
The property is situated to the north of the famous Cathar (Pays de Cathar) and Bastide (Circuit de Bastide) regions. Many medieval sites are nearby such as Cordes sur Ciel and Najac with Carcassone a 2.5 hour drive away through stunning historic countryside.
The cathedral town of Albi is the major city in the region approximately 25 miles to the south west.
The house is approximately 3 hours from the Pyrenees and Spanish border and benefits from fantastic average summer temperatures well above that of the UK.
Mirandol Bourgnounac area
The house is surrounded by beautiful river valleys, many of which benefit form riverside picnic and sunbathing areas. There are many country restaurants, with Monesties offering a dining experience of particular gastronomic note! (Restaurant de La Salles); Port de la Besse offers traditional French Country cuisine in a river side 'al fresco' location and ther are many others in the locale too numerous to mention.
Lac du Roucarrier offers lakeside (5 mile perimetre) relaxation with facilities for bathing (life guard monitored), canoeing and sailing.
There are many country festivals happening througout the year (e.g.La Teuillere, Mirandol), with opportunities for wine lovers to explore the 'Caves' of the nearby Gaillac wine region.
Canoe hire is available in nearby St Antonin, with opportunities for rock climbing and many other outdoor pursuits available on request.
The region offers superb opportunities for fishing, Hiking and Cycling in particular.
