Set in the tranquil country side, in the heart of the Guyenne, l'Oreade du Verger overlooks sunflowers fields, gently sloping hills and the small village of Roumagne. It is completly self-contained with its own entrance and private fenced garden.
The gite has been designed to make the minimum impact on the environment. Thanks to the high level of state of the art insulation materials used in it's construction, it remains cool in summer. Keeping the environment in mind, all hot water and the underfloor heating is provided by a very friendly geothermal heating system.
A large patio doors opens onto a beautiful terrace (equipped with barbecue, table and garden furniture).
The lounge area is a triumph of open plan living incorporating the fully fitted kitchen. The first bedroom on the ground floor is furnished with a large wardrobe, a desk and a bed 160 X 200 (possibility to make twinbeds 80 X 200). The second bedroom located on the first floor is also furnished with a wardrobe and twinbeds 80 X 200 (possibility to make a double bed (160 X 200).
The swiming pool -10M X 5 M (1 to 2 M depth) - with security alarm and roman steps is equipped with loungers and parasol, and is only shared with the owners.
At just 2 kms from all the services you require, banks,post office, doctors, butchers, bakers, bar, supermarket... you'll have the opportunity to enjoy " la douceur de vivre " of the region, to visit sites, to practice your favourite sport or activity or simply relax and unwind by the pool whilst enjoying the delicious foods and wines of the locality which you have previously purchased at the myriad of local markets in this gastronomically renowned region of France.

The Aquitaine / Dordogne / Lot et Garonne region
The region has an abundance of interesting places to visit amongst the most famous in France: The renowned sites of the Vezere Valley, Grottes de Lascaux. Fortified market towns such as Sarlat, Bergerac, Villeneuve S/ Lot, a lot of Medieval "Chateaux": Biron, Bonaguil, Monbazillac, and the "bastides" so charactheristic constructed by the English and the French during the XIII th and the XIV th century: Mompazier, Villereal, Monflanquin, Duras, Monsegur are all around.
This region offers also an abondance of vineyards (Bergerac, Marmandais, Duras, Mombazillac, Pecharmant...) and of produces such as "Foie Gras", "Confits", "Pruneaux d'Agen"...
Miramont / Roumagne area
Beside the bastides and beautiful sceneries, there are colourful local markets every day of the week somewhere around. In Miramont de Guyenne it's on Monday and in Eymet (6 KM) it's on Thursday all over the year. Being as well an opportunity to provide oneself in various supplies as to palaver for hours, it's still the main event of the week for local community (Famous night-time farmers markets in July and August in Miramont, Eymet and all villages around).
From May to October many towns and villages come alive with special events such as music, theatre, dance and song (in August: Festival of Street Art in Miramont de Guyenne).
The area provides tennis, fishing, cycling, horse riding, air sports (flight in ballon), canoeing, pedalos. You can also play golf (golf courses ranging from 15 mn to 30 mn drive away, which include the famous French course at "Chateau des Vigiers"). Golf clubs at disposal at the gite.

By car: - From Bordeaux - 90 mins - From Bergerac - 30 mins - From Paris - 6 hours - From St Malo port (ferries) - 6 hours. Ferries also from Cherbourg, Caen, Boulogne.
By air: - Flights to Bergerac (½ hour drive away,) with Ryanair and Flybe - Flights to Bordeaux (1½ hours drive away) with Flybe, BMIbaby, BA and Easyjet - Car hire available at the airports
By train: - from Paris to Marmande: 4.5 hrs

Our Gite is awarded "3 Epis" by the "Gites de France". To enquire or make a booking please email or telephone to us after checking availability chart. A booking form and conditions which should be returned with a deposit of 25% to finally secure the booking will be send to you. The balance is payable one month before your stay. A refundable security deposit of €250/£150 is payable at your arrival. Rental period is Saturday 4 pm to Saturday 10 am From October to May, very special conditions for long term rental. Please ask for details. Prices include water, central heating, electricity cost Please check with us regarding bed-linen and towels. Unlimited Wireless Internel: Free Maid service: 30 € We strongly advise our visitors to take an holiday cancellation insurance.
