Home description
Tifoune is a traditional stone farmhouse with the benefit of being newly renovated. Set in 3 acres of grounds with spectacular views of the rolling countryside, it is an ideal base to relax or explore the surrounding area . Why not take a 10 minute walk up to the windmill for some lunch and appreciate the views?
The property itself is full of character with exposed beams and large rooms and oil fired central heating throughout. It has 1 large double bedroom and 2 twin rooms, a lounge with woodburner for those winter months and is equipped with a selection of videos, dvds and music and sattelite tv for your enjoyment. There is a bathroom with shower and wc and a large kitchen diner equipped with all your needs. French doors lead onto the terrace and garden.
Relax by the decked 10m*5m swimming pool or explore the grounds which has a pond and orchard with plums, pears, peaches, apples and grapes. If you come in august you may help yourself they are lovely.
Their is a play area with a new climbing frame for the children to play and lots of toys games and ride ons

The Aquitaine / Dordogne / Lot et Garonne region
Tifoune is in area 47, the Lot-et-Garonne which is known for its production of prunes, sunflowers, fruit and wine which can be seen and sampled most places you go. The region has something to offer everyone from lakes, medieval bastide towns, French markets, caves, chateau's , activities for all the family golf,horse riding,swimming lakes.cannoeing, or just relax and enjoy the cuisine. The climate is long hot summers that last until about October.
Miramont area
Tifoune is in the small rural community centrally located between Marmande, Eymet, Villneuve-sur-lot, all lovely places to visit with markets and great resturaunts. The local village (3km) has a hotel and resturaunt, general store, boulangerie, boucherie and pharmacie; there is also a 9 hole golf course. The property is ideally situated for exploring the bastide towns of the area. Bergerac and Agen are 45mins. The seaside resort of Arcachon is 1hr 45 - 2hr drive which boasts the biggest sand dune in europe and has some lovely beaches. Bordeaux is about 1 hr 30mins. Closer to home there is a swimming lake with a beach, pontoon and water activities which is about 20mins drive. There is also a beach at the riverside town of Castlemoron-sur-Lot which has water activities as well and is only 10mins drive.
There is an abundance of activities close by including a children's petting farm, horse riding, cycling and canooing. Park Wallaby is about 45mins away and offers thrill rides etc for all ages.Tennis courts are available at Miramont lake which is about 15mins away.
Fantastic night markets are held at many of the local towns and villages during July and August where you can try the local cuisine, whilst soaking up the ambiance, wine and listening to local bands etc
Or just take the day cycling around the country roads or walk upto the windmill and enjoy the views.
How to get there
Just 45mins from Bergerac Airport and 1hr 20mins from Bordeaux. Cheap flights are available from Ryan Air, Flybe, BMI and Easy Jet. There are a selection of car hire companies available at both airports. The nearest Ferry port is St Malo which is 6hrs drive away but is an easy drive mainly on motorways with plenty of rest areas.
