Tucked away in the rolling countryside, within 5 kms of the medieval bastide town of Lauzerte is the beautifully restored 18th century cottage of Iche Bas. Situated on the side of a valley, the cottage enjoys far reaching views of the surrounding fields and farms. You could be forgiven in thinking that you had stepped back in time, had it not been for the high level of renovation, providing all the home comforts of today.
Apart from the close by, attractive town of Lauzerte with its shops, supermarket, restaurants and regular musical events, there is also a local regional restaurant at Miramont de Quercy, only 3 kms away. Each weekend morning is a large market in the centre of the nearby town of Moissac . This ancient, monastic town with its splendid Abbey and Romanesque cloisters is crossed by both the river Tarn and the canal du Midi.
This stylishly renovated property has 3 double bedrooms, 1 bathroom and 1 shower room, 2 WCs and a private swimming pool.
Entrance is into a large conservatory area, with dining table,sofa’s and a satellite (free view)TV. From here the doors open out onto a covered side terrace with a stone BBQ and a Wok. This light and comfortable area is also shared by the owners 3 cats, as they remain behind whilst their owners are away travelling; so should you like to spend your holiday at this property you will have the benefit of 3 friendly cats for company. They do not go into the bedrooms.
The large well equipped kitchen has been renovated to a high standard with a gas hob, electric oven, microwave, fridge/ freezer, dishwasher and plenty of utensils. There is a small breakfast table and doors leading out to the back terrace. There is a washing machine downstairs.
The comfortable sitting room has a fire place, 2 sofa’s, satellite (free view) TV and DVD Player. Doors lead out to the back terrace. Also on this floor is a shower room, with shower, basin and WC.
All 3 light and airy bedrooms are provided with wardrobes and drawers. Bedroom 1 has a Queen sized bed and French windows. Downstairs is Bedroom 2, which has a double “cabin” style bed, and bedroom 3 with a double bed. The bathroom has a corner bath, shower, basin and WC. Linen is included.
Should you feel the need to keep fit whilst you are on holiday there is an excellent gym downstairs, with various machines and weights.
There is also a stereo music i pod player facility within the house. Telephone and internet are available.
Surrounding the home are several terraces enabling you to take full advantage of the sun all day long. Starting with the terrace at the rear with views out across the valley and moving on to the side terrace with its BBQ, you arrive at the terrace area next to the swimming pool which is situated in the very pretty garden and amply supplied with garden furniture. The 10 m x5 m pool has roman steps. The owners have worked hard to establish a magnificent garden with shrubs, a pond and beautiful flowers. The home is set in 8 acres of land providing lots of opportunities for walks.
Due to the position of the property, (there are steep drops to the side of the rear terrace) it is not suitable for children under 12 years of age.

The local population is very friendly and tourists and foreign residents are made extremely welcome – all contributing to a calm leisurely life-style.
