There are endless coastal, moorland and woodland walks within a short drive from Wisteria Cottage. Blue Anchor Bay is just over a mile away, with its long promenade, swimming pool and dog friendly beach. Here, you can catch a steam train on the West Somerset Railway which will transport you back in time through the stunning Somerset countryside.
There are activities for all ages; Minehead and Watchet have summer festivals and carnivals and Dunster has a unique candlelight festival at Christmas time.
There are also many historical places of interest such as Cleeve Abbey, a 13th century Cistercian abbey and National Trust properties such as Dunster Castle.
In the next village there is even a small zoo with adventure playground, ideal for entertaining younger guests.
West Somerset is a beautiful part of the country with rolling green hills and stunning rocky coastlines.
Within easy reach of Wisteria Cottage is the neighboring county of Devon with its quaint seaside towns and sandy beaches such as Woolacombe Bay, recently voted one of the top 10 beaches in the world.

"Looking forward to next time already!"
My partner and I regularly enjoy weekends away and this one did not disappoint us. Having two dogs we are used to being limited with choice when it comes to accommodation, often even when we find some… More

"A little Gem"
Had planned to use this cottage as a base to explore Exmoor. Great location, close enough to the coast to walk the dog on the beach in the morning, but also right on the edge of Exmoor National ParkTh… More

"Cold & Damp"
Lovely area & cottage on the outside, but advertised as central heated. The smaller bedroom had no heating at all, a window that didn't shut properly & paint flaking off the ceiling over the bed… More

"Excellent Accommodation With A Friendly Welcome"
This was our third stay at Wisteria Cottage, as good as ever. Harvey and Natasha as always welcoming and friendly. Even the chief cooked a vegetarian meal for us which weren't on the menu.
The cottage is homely, comfortable, and fitted for self-catering, but being next to the restaurant, we have never used these facilities. We highly recommend the food.
The cottage is located to the rear of the hotel and is very quiet away from the road traffic.
The property is in an excellent location, with easy access to Blue Anchor and Minehead beaches, close to Dunster Castle, which is ideal for walking if you have a dog like ours.
We have booked again for a short break in July and cannot wait to return.
We highly recommend this property.

"Our Seventh Visit to Wisteria Cottage"
We have just returned from another enjoyable holiday at Wisteria Cottage. The cottage has two good sized bedrooms, is very clean, comfortable and has everything required for a self catering holiday. However as it is situated in the courtyard of the Dragon House Hotel, we have the added choice of being able to spoil ourselves with an excellent breakfast, lunch or dinner in the hotel.

"The most relaxing place in Exmoor!"
This was our second stay in Wisteria Cottage after previously staying in the B&B. Wisteria cottage is a real home away from home, accommodation is clean, comfortable and very well equipped. The real benefit was the fact that you can have the best of both worlds, you can either cater for yourself in the cottage kitchen, or if you are too lazy to cook you can pop into the hotel and sample some of the fantastic food on offer. Chef was particularly accommodating, my husband eats no meat or fish and he produced a list of five specials he could make for him!
The location is a wonderful base for exploring Exmoor and there is some spectacular walking nearby which is brilliant if you have a four legged friend! This is the real bonus to the cottage for us, the accommodating attitude to dogs, our dog is easily stressed by new surroundings (he is very old) but he was made very welcome indeed!
Hosts Harvey and Natasha couldn't have been more helpful, no request was too annoying, and when we ended up having to work on our holiday, not only were we given wifi access in the bar, we were much more productive as Harvey kept us supplied with cream teas and Sauvignon Blanc!
We will be back soon!
