Originally built as our dream retirement home, it is now available for you to share our dream and spend a wonderful holiday in a beautiful and expensively equipped villa with amazing sea and hillside views.
It was built for full time living so space is evenly divided between the Ground Floor Open Plan Lounge / Dining / Kitchen and the Two First Floor En suite Bedrooms, all offering incredible sea views through full width sliding glass doors that offer access to the Pool Terrace at Ground Floor and a large terrace at first floor level.
The Lounge area is beautifully equipped with two Red Leather Settee's, one two seater and one three seater both fitted with two electric reclining mechanisms for maximum comfort to watch the 47" flat screen television or listen to the Bose stereo playing your favourite music from your Wi Fi connected Ipod or MP3 player. A CD and DVD player are both available as are a selection of popular DVD.s for you to enjoy. Your laptop can be connected to the TV using a HDMI or VGA cable supplied which will give you access to internet based TV programmes. An Android hub also creates a Smart TV complete with wand remote and gives you access to unlimited films, Google XBMC for an insight into this equipment. This area also has a couple of Coffee tables and an Air Conditioning Unit ( # see notes below )
The Dining Area has a Sideboard and Light Oak table with six matching Red leather high back and comfortable chairs for extended family dining offering an ever changing sea view, doors open or closed dependant on the time of year.
The Kitchen is fully fitted with everything you could wish for both in Appliances which are all integrated and hidden behind the High Gloss Deep Red Unit Doors and consist of a Large Oven, Small Oven and Microwave combined, Separate Full Height Larder Fridge and Freezer, Bottle Fridge with Glass Door, Dishwasher, Washing Machine and on the Centre Island Unit is the Halogen Hob and Extractor Fan Cooker Hood.
Completing the Ground Floor is a Guest Shower room with wall hung toilet, concealed cistern, wash basin and heated towel rail.
Access to the Two First Floor Bedrooms is gained by a central bespoke Italian Design Stainless Steel spiral staircase of generous proportions with no headroom restrictions, a roof skylight in the stair column allows natural light to tumble down the staircase by day and at night it is illuminated by subtle LED lights fitted in the handrail, unique and beautiful.
Both bedrooms are spacious and very light benefiting from large sliding doors once more and with a balcony shared between both of them from which to enjoy the incredible sea and hillside views and down on to the pool terrace.
The Bedrooms are large by Greek standards, very light and airy with high ceilings making them very comfortable in the heat of the Summer, there is also Air Conditioning Units in each ( # see note ) both have en suite facilities.
The Master Suite is very special with the Red Leather King Size Bed positioned in the centre of the room in island style with an incredible sea view to wake up to once you have, without getting out of bed, operated the electric curtains with the remote on the bedside cabinet.
The en suite is equally very special with its 5m high ceiling and circular window, feature tile set and mosaic tiles, German designer power shower in a wet room style with ample space for two to shower in comfort. Following the Red theme a custom made high gloss Glass topped Vanity Unit, wall hung toilet with soft close seat, concealed cistern and very large heated Towel Rail and mirror make it a special place to get ready for that day of adventure and exploration or getting ready for a special evening out.at one of the local sea front restaurants.
The Second Bedroom ( our Guest Room ) is currently showing a Double Bed, this will be REPLACED with Two Singles before the season begins, this room has Air Conditioning ( # see note ) and its own en suite facility, again beautifully fitted out Wet Room with Mosaic tiles, large walk in Shower with German Quality Concealed Thermostatic Power Shower Valve, perfect for the younger members of the family with hot water temperature controlled automatically, concealed Cistern, wall hung toilet and soft close seat, heated Towel Rail and Mirror.
The curtains are again Electric and controlled by a remote by the side of the bed.

The Crete region
The villa is in the Lasithi region of Crete and on the North East coast, it is the last of a string of resorts which were developed from the airport Eastwards along the coast, it is the last village with access to the sea and a beach.
The advantage is they ran out of money before they got this far so the village is unspoilt and actually signed as a
' Traditional Village ' on the road signs, there are no hotels and many of the apartment blocks are no longer suitable for the expectations of the travelling public and are therefore closed.
The village does not benefit from a coast road connection to the adjacent resort, the result is a largely unspoilt reasonable quiet area where the sea front taverna' s are relaxed, have space for you and time to treat you properly with no rush or pressure, no dragging you in off the street to eat !
The old capital of the area is Neapoli ( 8 klms ) a traditional market town with a beautiful church open daily and well worth a visit, as is sitting in one of the cafe's on the main street and observing the Greeks going about there daily lives.
The modern day capital is Agios Nikolaos ( 18 klms ) which is a bustling busy upmarket tourist town with its famous inner lake and its many taverna's around its edge where you can sit, eat and drink in comfort and no more expensively than the local ones here in Milatos.
Choose a day when there is a cruise liner in the port you will see a ship taller than the surrounding buildings an incredible sight, when the passengers disembark the visitors doubles in number as you can imagine and the Greek shop keepers take on a broad grin.
Market day is a Wednesday if you enjoy fresh home grown fruit and vegetables, there is little else worthy of a visit.
A natural progression from Agios would be a coastal detour through Elounda, a very popular tourist resort with its expensive waterside hotels and also a firm favourite with expensive ex pat villas strewn around the hillside desperate for that exclusive view ..... the Island of Spinalonga .... just off the coast, a visit means a 10 min boat ride from Plaka the last of the water side resorts before the headland that separates it from ....guess where .... Milatos. If only there was a road you could have been there in 10 mins !
Moving inland there is the famous Lasithi Plateau, it is a very fertile flat area on the top of a mountain range and is an interesting sight to be seen but of little interest to the kids ! it is about an hours drive, up a windy road to the area through numerous villages, a road then circumnavigates the plateau itself, there is a cave there worth a visit before you take one of several different routes down for a change of scenery.
Travelling further East gets you to Sitia the last of the five major towns on the North Coast of the island all served by the National Road, this trip see's you travelling much higher up from sea level with the incredible views that affords, a nice stop is a village called Mochlos about 25 klms into your trip.
The villa is in a traditional area of Crete where you are still surrounded by the local population working on their land tending the olives, in recent years resorting to home growing a lot of there own vegetables. Tucked away in the olive groves there are small holdings with animals offering the older Greek a level of self sufficiency that the Cretans are well known for.
In the immediate vacinity of the villa we have ' Milatos Cave ' ( 3 klms ) complete with its built in chapel, certainly worthy of a visit but best take the torch from the villa, there is no lighting, it is dark and headroom is limited for the very short distance into the cave itself to get to the chapel.
There are some ruins at Malia Palace which they are in the process of restoring, this is on the way to the best sandy beach in the area ( 4 klms ) and then the town of Malia itself, you may we of visited here in your youth it being an 18 - 30 favourite .... or at least it was .... it is fast becoming a much nicer place to be with the reduction in the numbers of youngsters being attracted these days, in early and late season, due to the number of hotels, it is becoming a favourite with the older generation.
It is always useful to know whether your visit co insides with any festivals or celebrations that you can be involved in, all of them are open to visitors and you will be made very welcome for making the effort to get involved in these events, below are a list of the dates and a description of the event.
