The Lombardy / Milano/Monza region
Milan sits on the "Padana" plain in the shadow of the Alps. Hot and humid in the summer, cold and damp in the winter. The second largest city in Italy after Rome with 2.5 million population. It has a beautiful medieval city centre and lot to see and do for the tourist. Lombary region is accesable from Milan by train or car. Lake Como and Lake Maggiore are definitely recommended to visit.
