The Lombardy region

Lombardy is a region in the northern part of Italy. It is the most populated region of the country, and has almost 9.4 million people. The capital is Milan. In the north of Lombardy there are very high mountains, (40% of the territory is mountains) the highest mountains are almost 4.000 meters in the Bernina Range.

In the south of the region flows the Po river, which is the longest river in Italy. The most important rivers are the Adda river, the Mincio and the Ticino river, all of them end in the Po river.

There are also a lot of lakes, the largest are Lake Maggiore, Lake Varese, Lake Como, and Lake Garda.

Milan is renowned as one of the world capitals of design and fashion. The English word millinery, referring to women's hats, is derived from the name of the city.

The Lombard metropolis is famous for its fashion houses and shops (such as along via Montenapoleone) and the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele in the Piazza Duomo (reputed to be the world's oldest shopping mall).

"Modern flat, spotlessly clean, good value for Milan."

Newly refurbished flat, stylish and clean. Slightly out of city centre but close to several tram routes (to city centre), buses (including to Central Station and San Siro stadium) and fairly near metro. Carrefour supermarket nearby if you want to self-cater. Prompt replies to emails and met at flat on arrival. Highly recommended.
