The Costa del Sol region

The Costa del sol has a first rate road network and offers an excellent choice of activities and places of interest. From Mijas, the historical towns of Gibraltar, Ronda and Granada's Alhambra are a good choice for a day's sight-seeing. Malaga, Marbella and Puerto Banus are the perfect solution for the shopaholic. Benalmadena and Fuengirola offer beaches, marinas and water sports for those who like sun, sand and sea.
The "Spanish Lake District" is about an hour's drive away and is worth a visit with its unique blue lakes and surreal rock structure. Ideal for ramblers.
The Mijas Pueblo / Nuevo Pueblo area
The townhouse is part of a small private urbanisation which was built about 20 years ago. Built into the hillside with whitewashed walls, cobbled streets and flowering plants the community is is both private and easily accessible. It's swimming pool overlooks the surrounding hills and coastline and is amply provided with loungers and umbrellas. Although Nuevo Pueblo affords privacy it is just a stroll away from Mijas village centre's shops and restaurants.
Mijas Pueblo is the epitome of the white-washed hillside village so loved by the Spanish and visitor alike.
As well as ample shops and restaurants the village boasts the smallest bull ring in Spain, an open-air theatre and a plaza with a bandstand which provides entertainment in the summer and Autumn months along with a number of Fiestas. The village's park is ideal for a leisurely evening stroll and is designed around amazing views. Donkey "taxi" is a more traditional way of seeing the village! There is a very good tourist office which provides information on local events and activities.

The apartment is one of the better ones I have ever stayed in with everything you could ever want at hand. The decor is very Spanish and authentic giving it a real rustic feel which we all really loved. The apartment complex is so very well maintained and spotless and you have the feeling you are in a traditional Spanish village. If you are getting a taxi to the aparment ask them to drop you off at the Fiesta restaurant and just behind the BBQ area there is some steps up to a gate, go throught the gate and turn left and you will see a set of winding stairs ahead of you. When you get to the top of the stairs the apartment is at the end of the path on the right hand side just before the wooden gates. The pool area is wonderful and there was never a feeling of overcrowding, in fact it was the opposite with everyone round the pool chatting and getting to know one another. The pool itself is heated and well maintained. The apartment is in an idyllic location with two restaurants on the doorstep and the Fiesta restaurant which we visited regularly has a lovely family feel to it where everyone is made to feel very welcome. The prices were not the cheapest but the quality of food was very good and plentiful. The village square is just 5/10 minutes stroll away and there is a very good supermarket just round the corner literally 3 minutes away with everything you would need for your stay. It has an excellent bakery department, its own butcher department and fresh fruit and vegetables in abundance. It even offers a delivery service so if want to do your holiday shop you can get them to deliver it to your doorstep. The village itself is the most relaxing place I have ever had the pleasure to visit. Don't get me wrong there is the bountiful array of tourist souvenir shops selling everything from fridge magnets to a set of castanets but there are so many lovely quiet areas where you can sit and enjoy a coffee and watch the world pass by. If you go up to the bullring walk past this and go round to the right by the amphitheatre, there is a lovely little cafe which sells the most wonderful ice creams and you are never too old to enjoy them. Whilst in Mijas Pueblo you have to remember you are in a village and things like exchanging money can only be done in the banks which are only open at certain times, something like 8am till 12 noon but please don't quote me on that one. There is a Tabac shop in the village run by two very gentile old ladies, which is located next to the indoor market. If you want to get fresh fish and meat be at the market early as it tends to be empty by lunchtime. The bus service from the village is excellent and if you exit the apartment from the Fiesta restaurant gate just cross the road and walk up to the right and you will see the bus stop. You can get the bus down to Fuengirola for 1euro 30 cents and I think the last bus back up to the village is 10pm. The taxis vary in prices but on average I would say 15 euros would get you from Fuengirola back to the village at night if you fancy staying out later. Spend some time reading the visitor book and you will get some good recommendations on places to eat, that's what we did and we weren't disappointed. Response: We are so pleased that you enjoyed your stay and thank you kindly for your review |
Guestbook for Casa Campo Jomo
Everything about the apartment is exceptionally good - starter pack and lots of things which one usually has to buy with self-catering. The area itself is an absolute joy and the complex so beautifully kept and Spanish- a home from home
We have had a lovely time. We have been go-karting, to the water park, on the horse and cart ride and the zoo which was great fun! also the apratment had everything we needed. Hope to come back one day!
Have spent a wonderful week at Mijas in your delightful apartment. We are not ready for home yet!
A little piece of heaven ! The townhouse had everything required and we had a fantastic time. ( have not slept so well for ages )
Only one flaw with the apartment : we don't own it ! We had a fantastic time, a great home from home
The welcome pack was greatly appreciated.
