The Andalucia region

Situated in the hills above the mediterranean sea in between malaga and marbella. Just 15 mins away from the coast by car. Known for its wonderful picturesque views over the med, The Costa del Sol Generally has good weather all year round. Visitors come from all over the world all year round returning time and time again to this magical hilltop white washed spanish village.

Climate ranges from 14 degrees celcius in winter up to 30 in the summer.

There are many festivals throughout the year in Mijas as it is well known for. The 3 Kings over the Christmas period,Semana Santa over easter period,Mijas International day in June, the night of san juan, concerts, theatre etc etc all throughout the year. Mijas is also great for walkers and bike riders as there are many hills to walk up to. There is a beautiful little church in the mountain just 15 mins walk on a pathway with stunning views over the whole village, worth a walk. Mijas is a true gem.

Mijas Pueblo

Mijas Pueblo is one of Spains hiddens treasures. Set in the mountains between malaga and marbella. If you intened to visit a typical spanish village then this is definately the one. Mijas has it all. Ferias in the summer, andalucian horses, flamenco in the square aswell as many other interesting events including a typical market. Mijas has kept its spanish charm and individualism. Tourists from all over the world visit Mijas all year round. Tiny unique shops line most of the streets, all brimming with souvenirs. The local wares such as ceramics and leatherwork, jewellery and paintings are more rare, but can still be found. There are an abundance of restaurants and tapas bars amongst the cobbled streets of mijas.

The village is split into several levels, each being connected by narrow roads and wonderful walkways. Plaza de la Paz (Peace Square) keeps up to its name as you sit in one of the street bars and soak up the atmosphere. This plaza is marked by a white statue of a hand and a dove. La Plaza de la Constitucion is in the heart of the village and in the centre of the square is a beautiful fountain from which the birds drink. This fountain was carved by Galiano, using blocks of marble that slid down the mountains after the floods in november 2, 1884. (There is a brand of water 23 feet up on one of the houses on Calle Del Pilar.) The square is surrounded by cafés and shops. Here you will also find one of the Farmacias.

Why not visit the local chocolate factory, or visit many of the unique shops such as Mijas Magic in this square.

Every Wednesday there is a flamenco show on in the main plaza (virgin de la peña). Across from the square there is a very informative helpful tourist information office where you can find out what goes on in Mijas and surrounding areas.

Mijas Pueblo is a must see for everyone. Everyone that visits say its amazing and always return.

"nice apartment but"

A nice apartment but not for those with mobiltiy issues, we found the apartment to be clean & tidy with everything we needed the garden was lovely although we thought it needed cutting back a bit, when we arrived the tv showed limited english channels & sky news but half way through the holiday the dish was taken away no more tv we don't go on holiday to watch tv but its nice to keep up with the news. Mijas is lovely lots of very nice restaurants & we were lucky enough to have a blues concert & a European event on our weekends all free. We would recommend this apartment we found it to be comfortable & clean although we didn't find the clean sheets until we were going home we washed & dried the ones on the bed, all in all we had a lovley holiday. Ian & Ange Rochester

Im glad you enjoyed your stay. Im sorry you felt that the tv was taken away. This is because all of the costa del sol have lost all english channels due to the government taking this away so this is not under our control, we had to take the satellite dish down by a certain date in August otherwise we would have had a €7000 fine. I am sorry you couldn't ask me about this or take a look on the description when you booked.
The sheets get washed by the cleaners along with all towels etc at the end of the visitors holiday. However as specified on the description if required extra cleaning of sheets during your stay is optional and an extra fee which i would have of course taken care of if specified, no problem at all. Normally it isn't what visitors require, hence the price of the apartment. I am always there to to suit visitors needs only a phone call away. I am glad you enjoyed your stay and Mijas. Thankyou

"Perfect position for a relaxing stay!"

We really enjoyed our stay here and appreciated the pick up and drop off at the airport by Suzie & Mark. The apartment was a bit basic but we didn't really find we needed much. We were a bit disappointed with lack of wifi reception at first but we found this really helped us to switch off and relax - which was what we really needed! Lovely, pretty little garden, with lots of sun and shade.

The centre of Mijas was just a few minutes walk away down some steep steps or slope but we became used to this and eventually found it good exercise to walk off the great meals out. Lovely choice of restaurants but we particularly enjoyed La Reja, which was the last meal out we treated ourselves to.

We would really recommend Mijas as it was a lovely little town and the apartment was in a really good position.

Thankyou, glad you enjoyed your stay

"Bargain apartment in delightful little town"

We spent a week here in April and were blessed with lovely weather and temperatures above twenty degrees every day.
Booking was very easy and communications very smooth throughout. We were picked up from the airport and would recommend this if you have a night flight as Mark shared some excellent tips about Mijas when we arrived.
The terrace is a lovely spot for breakfast and the sun was on the garden away from 10-5 and is a real suntrap. The garden has a lovely smell especially from the jasmine tree.
The apartment itself is comfortable for a couple with a clean kitchen, dining and lounge area. The bedroom has good wardrobe storage and the bathroom was nice and clean with a good shower.
In terms of location the apartment was ideal for us being less than 5 minutes walk from a lot of restaurants and bars in Mijas and a ten minute walk to the supermarket. It is a hilly area and the road is narrow if you have a car but these were not a problem for us at all as we just left the car at the bottom and walked up.
Mijas is an excellent base for visiting the beautiful Andalusian countryside towns like Ronda and has some lovely tapas bars.
We would be very happy to recommend the town and the apartment.

Lovely to have you stay in our apartment, you are always welcome for a second visit, a pleasure to meet with you

"A little gem in a wonderful town!"

We booked to stay for 3 nights in early February at the very last minute to get away for a few days. Despite requesting the apartment less than 24 hours before arriving: Suzie was very quick to confirm our booking and arrangements for our arrival. On arrival in Mijas, Suzie met with us and showed us where to park and how to find the apartment. Suzie's communication and customer service was first class throughout the process.

Tip! - Do listen to Suzie's advice about parking; it's literally a two minute walk away. The streets are narrow in Mijas and parking outside the villa is difficult unless you have a small car. Whilst I had fun trying to reverse a Renault Laguna round a bend the same width as the car, down a steep hill, at 10 in the evening: I can imagine it would be slightly more stressful if you tried to do this during the day when there are more people around!

The apartment itself is located on a lovely cobbled street very close to the main amenities of the town centre. Despite this, it was very peaceful here throughout the day (and night). The neighbours were all locals from what we could gather and seemed very friendly, although I wasn't confident enough in my Spanish to strike up a conversation other than, "Hola." The garden area was quite secluded and did catch the sun (when it was shining - although going away in February in Europe is always a bit of a gamble). The cleanliness of the apartment was spot on and the bed was really comfortable.

Mijas is a town well worth visiting. Despite it's close proximity to the 'package holiday' destinations such as Fuengirola on the coast, it's amazing the difference a 10 minute drive inland can make: Mijas has a much more Spanish feel to it. There are plenty of restaurants and interesting sights in the town itself. However, it also makes a good base for exploring further. On one day we drove out to Seville and back through Ronda (around 2.5 hours driving each way). I imagine you could also comfortably drive out to Granada or even Gibraltar from here too if you stayed for longer.

In summary a lovely apartment in a lovely town and a great base to see the Costa Del Sol and surrounding areas. Only one thing disappointed me... That I didn't book to stay for longer!

im glad you enjoyed your stay in our apartment, thankyou

"Lovely apartment in quiet location"

Stayed Jan. 2014 for 7 nights and had a lovely time in this compact and well thought out apartment. Apartment is open plan with sitting/dining/kitchen area, separate large bedroom with on suite bathroom. The whole apartment is brightly and comfortably furnished and everything required is provided. A very Zen type garden and we sunbathed a few days even in January. Mijas peublo has everything one could want. Small supermarkets, numerous local bars and lots of good restaurants although during the day they can get quite crowded with coach tourists but only until late afternoon and then it reverts back to a peaceful village. We ate a few times in La Terreza bar/restaurant and the food and prices were excellent. Food cooked freshly and cannot speak highly enough of the owner.
A special mention of Suzie the owner of the apartment. Extremely friendly and efficient nothing was too much trouble . Communication was excellent. Had a few teething problems too trivial to mention but they were sorted immediately.
Calle de San Sebastion is quite steep but if you find the Coviran supermarket which is a
street down, the steps from there up to the apartment are not quite as steep.
All in all had a wonderful time in this lovely peaceful apartment and would have no hesitation in staying there again.

We are so happy that you had a lovely holiday in our apartment, thankyou

"Charming Rustic Casita in Mijas Pueblo"

I was thrilled to find such a delightful rustic property. A small house in the beautiful white washed Andalucian village of Mijas. The little house can be found tucked away in a quiet residential street just off one of the main streets of the village, and only a short walk from the main tourist centre. The casita is a simple but tastefully furnished home, and has everything to make this place a little home from home. Full of charm and character, with fabulous outdoor space. A small terrace/balcony, and a delightful enclosed courtyard, perfect for idling away a few hours in the sunshine. Suzie the owner was a delightful host, nothing was too much trouble for her, she made my stay in the village delightful.

A pleasure to have you in our mijas apartment, so glad you had a lovely stay, thankyou

"lovely apartment !"

I really liked this apartment. It was a perfect size for 2. lovely comfortable bed and sitting room. The decor was bright and cheerful with fabric flowers and pictures to make it homely.
Outside was a small table and 2 chairs where we had breakfast and the odd lunch. The garden was beautiful with well established flowering shrubs in bright colours.
A very hilly area with cobbled streets so do not wear high heels. We were close enough to all the restaurants in the evening but it was very quiet and all the neighbours seemed locals.
The owner Suzie will pick you up from the airport which is far better if you do not know Mijas Pueblo .I recommend this apartment to any couple who did not mind the steep area

Glad you enjoyed your stay and im glad you found the apartment comfortable. Thankyou
