Villa | 3 bedrooms | sleeps 6
La Finca is a 200 year old restored farm house located on the hillside below Mijas Pueblo overlooking Fuengirola and the Mediterranean. Situated within walking distance of Mijas Pueblo and a 10 minutes drive down the hill to Fuengirola, a friendly city with beautiful water front beaches. The city caters to families on holiday all kinds of restaurants and pubs everywhere.
La Finca has four bedrooms (nearly). Two large bedrooms on the ground floor, another bedroom (en suite) on the first floor via the spiral staircase, and the loft bedroom (originally the hay loft). The loft is a favourite “bedroom” for the young at heart.
The house has air conditioning throughout that is controlled by remote handheld units much like a VCR control.
There is a TV/VCR/DVD/Satellite system that can be used to play your favourite videos but most visitors will want to forego this for the fantastic views that the patio area has to offer.
The gardens surrounding the house are a real feature. With walkways, patios, and quiet areas throughout the property the gardens offer a colourful environment anytime of the year.
The pool overlooks the sea, has night lighting and is adjacent to the patio and barbecue. The views from the pool and patio area are spectacular day or night.
You'll be spoiled for choice in Mijas Pueblo. Mijas Pueblo offers great restaurants, shops, outdoor café's, its own bullring, donkey taxi's and many other attractions. Whilst it caters to tourists during the day (they are bussed in), Mijas turns into a quiet traditional Spanish village in the evening and I would suggest that you make a point to stroll in for dinner after the tourists depart.
Make sure you visit the chapel in Mijas (near the donkey taxi stand)…it's several hundred years old, a good photo opportunity and great views to the sea from the overlook.
Fuengirola, the city down the hill, has everything on offer but unlike many holiday resorts it is family oriented and very civilised. The pedestrian area, about a block or two up from the beach offers a plethora of outdoor restaurants, etc. The beaches are all blue flag rated. There is also a large water park that children may enjoy.
Mijas is located only 20 minutes drive from Malaga International airport and has very good transport facilities.
In Fuengirola you can catch trains and buses to Mijas, Marbella, Malaga, Seville, Ronda, etc.
Mijas is a good place to visit and discover the Costa del Sol, Gibraltar, cross to Marroco from Algeciras, Cádiz, Sevilla, Granada, Córdoba, Ubeda, etc.
There are fantastic supermarkets very close, like Lidl, Euromarket, Mercadona, Eroski.
Also very good shopping centres like Corte Ingles in Puerto Banus and Malaga, La Canada shopping centre driving to Marbella or the new Miramar Centre in Fuengirola which is quite big and has a lot of shops, restaurants, tapas bars, cinemas, and Eroski supermarket. Plaza Mayor is another lovely new shopping centre, restaurants, cinemas, etc and is located near the airport on the Parador de Golf exit from the freeway.

The Costa del Sol region
Mijas Pueblo, situated in the heart of the Costa del Sol lies only 30 kilometres from Malaga International Airport. It has a varied landscape that goes from the mountains all the way to the sea.
The area of Mijas is mostly mountainous with growing developments along the coast and on the gentler parts of the mountain slopes before they plung into the sea. The Pasadas and Ojen rivers cross this area, they join to form the river Fuengirola which flows into the sea almost on the limits between Fuengirola and Mijas.
The Municipality, one of the largest in the Province of Malaga, with 147 km2 is divided into three different urban areas: Mijas Pueblo, conserving the charm of a traditional Andalucian "white village", Las Lagunas on the coast (the most modern area of Mijas where you can find industrial and commercial areas) and La Cala, a small seaside village in the centre of the 12 kilometres of beaches on the Mijas coast.
Inhabited since ancient times, a small village Mijas was devoted mainly to agriculture and fisheries to the explosion of the tourist boom in the 50s of last century. Since then, tourism and construction sector have been the engines of local economy, triggering at the same time the population and per capita income, albeit at a high environmental cost. Today is a multicultural city with a high percentage of residents of foreign origin and a major residential centers of tourism in Andalusia.
