The villa is divided into 2 separate apartments, both with independent access. The owners live in the upper apartment.
The apartment that is available for holiday rental forms the ground floor of the villa. There is a comfortably furnished lounge with an open fireplace and television receiving SKY free to air channels. In addition there is a separate dining room with dining table and chairs for 6 people. The apartment has 2 bedrooms. The Master bedroom has a double bed which can be split into twin beds if required. The second bedroom has a single bed. Both bedrooms share a family bathroom with walk in shower cubicle, and there is in addition a guest toilet.
The kitchen/diner is well equipped with all you will need for self-catering There is an electric oven, gas hob, kettle, toaster, microwave, food processor, and fridge freezer. From the kitchen you can go out to the laundry room and also the rear garden.
The beauty of the property is its outside space. There is a kidney shaped swimming pool, sun bathing terrace, terrace for BBQ, and best of all a fabulous chill out covered terrace which is accessed either from the lounge or from the exterior of the villa. This terrace can be used equally in the summer or in the winter. It has a glass topped dining table which seats 8 people, plus a separate table with 4 chairs. It has a free standing wood burning iron fireplace for use in the cooler months, and electric heaters. It is the perfect place to sit and while away your time.
With this property you have all the benefits of a villa - pool, garden, quiet location, excellent outdoor space - while paying for an apartment.
It is possible to walk to the main road where next to the Hotel Puerta del Sol there is a bus stop with buses running between Fuengirola and Mijas, but car hire is recommended.
As the owner teaches Spanish if you wanted to improve your Spanish while on holiday lessons could be arranged.

The Andalucia region
The Costa Del Sol welcomes more than two million people a year who arrive at Malaga international airport and head to one of the many resorts located along this stretch of coastline.
With the Costa del Sol weather giving average annual temperatures of 18ºC and over 300 days of sunshine per year it isn't difficult to understand why it is one of Europe's top holiday destinations.
There are around 70 Costa del Sol golf courses on the "Costa del Golf" which can be played all year round as well as a whole range of other activities available such as sailing, scuba diving, horse riding, dolphin safaris, etc. The list is endless.
Away from the coast there are numerous excursions into the real Spain with the cities of Ronda, Seville, Cordoba and Granada all accessible for day tours. For the more adventurous you can also take a 15km trip across the Straits of Gibraltar to visit Tangier in Morocco.
One of the jewels of the Costa del Sol is the beautiful little village of Mijas, which nestles comfortably in the mountainside at 428 meters above sea level; it is a superb choice for either holiday or full time living.
When you wander through the narrow cobbled streets of this Andalucian village, you can understand what has attracted foreigners to settle here over the years. Many artists and writers have made it their home, enjoying the benefits of an excellent all year round climate, without being part of the busier, more commercial coastal towns just 7 kilometres down the mountain side.

Constitution Square – a fabulous place to sit enjoying a meal or drink in one of the local restaurants and just watch the world pass by.
Shrine Virgen of the Rock: The Shrine holds the image of the patroness of Mijas, the Virgin of the Rock. Legend has it that the image of the Virgin was hidden during 5 centuries and was found in 1586 by the father of two shepherd boys who were led to the hiding place by a dove.
"El Carromato de Max": A museum of miniatures, one of the most important of its kind with works from over 50 countries.
The Casa Museo: Established in 1995 the Museum reproduces a traditional village house and informs you of local traditions.
Church Inmaculada Concepcion: Built in 1541 on the site of an ancient Moorish castle, one of the castle towers was used as a bell tower. A series of frescos of the Apostles date back to approximately 1632.
Fortress walls: La Ruta del Botanica The remnants of the fortress that used to protect the village with its pretty gardens and spectacular view point.
Malaga Wine museum – well worth a visit with its selection of wines from all over the world.
San Sebastian Street – this typical street is one of the most picturesque and photographed streets of the coast.

"Views to die for"
If you are looking for peace and quiet, a stunning vista, a welcoming host and a property with modern appliances, this is it. Our host, Carmen, was extremely helpful and always available for advice, without being intrusive. The outdoor facilities, with lovely grounds, plenty of areas to eat and a lovely private pool make this villal a very good value holiday rental. We hired a car so we could visit other villages/towns for local markets etc and to visit the wonderful town of Ronda, but there is a bus service should you just wish to stay local. There is a large Carrefour only 10 minutes drive away and with a large fridge/freezer, it is a recommended shop to visit.
However for us the best part of the holiday was the magnificent view overlooking Fuengirola out to sea. Highly recommended.

My husband, son and I stayed at the villa in for a week in August this year.
We arrived late at night in the dark but as soon as we were shown in we realised that the photographs did not do it justice. The Villa is very tastefully decorated and appointed and clean. Everything you could need is supplied for you.
Waking up the following morning we were simply taken aback by the breathtaking views from the covered veranda which overlooks the pool and has views to the coast.
We decided not to hire a car, knowing the area well we wanted a quiet week and that is exactly what we got. This was not an issue at all - the villa is a 3 minute walk to the bus stops which will take you up into the white washed village of Mijas, or into the busier and bustling Fuengirola. The bus is €1.55 per journey.
You will note I refer to the property as a villa. It is an apartment as it is the ground floor with the owner, Carmen, living in the upstairs however we never had the feeling that it wasn't a detached property. Carmen stopped on her way in or out of the house to ensure that we were happy and had everything we needed and was willing to offer advice and assistance wherever she could. It is not a negative that Carmen lives in the upstairs apartment more of a reassurance that there was someone there looking after things when we were not.
Our week went too quickly and we would definitely return and have no hesitation in recommending it.
