Fuengirola town with its great restaurants and shopping, or the popular beach resort of La Cala de Mijas is only a short drive, and for those who love the high life Marbella and Puerto Banus are only a short 20 min drive away, offering fabulous marina, wonderful restaurants and varied nightlife for all ages, look out for the rich and famous. We are situated near to the best of what the costa del sol has to offer. We ensure a holiday experience you won't forget.

The Costa del Sol/Malaga region

The Costa del Sol enjoys a warm and pleasant climate all year round, which makes it the perfect holiday destination any time of year. Whilst you can be enjoying the sun in late November on the beach, only two hours drive away you could be skiing down the slopes of the Sierra Nevadas. With such a wide variety of things to do, and a climate that can be enjoyed all year round, what are you waiting for, make the Costa del Sol your next holiday, with la hacienda being your base to explore everything this beautiful coast has to offer.

Visit the lively town of Fuengirola, with its beautiful beaches and great shopping areas. For a great family day out head to the Fuengirola Zoo, the kids will love it! Only a 5 - 10 min away from La Hacienda de Mijas Golf.

Drop down to Marbella to rub shoulders with some of Europes rich and famous, or just pop into one of the many fine restaurants or head into the port for the nightclubs in the evening and dance away the night.

Fuengirola

Fuengirola's line of tower-block hotels stretches right along the long sandy beaches as far as Los Boliches, the only Blue Flag beach in the area. While the beaches are especially pretty and the sea idyllic, the shops, children's attractions, numerous restaurants and proximity of the hotels to the beaches make this excellent for families. Teenagers too will have a ball from May-Oct, when the town comes alive. Behind the modern front lies a Spanish heart and the town centre retains some of its old character, the fishermen's cottages converted into boutiques. The main square is the place to watch the world and his moped roar by.

Marbella

Marbella's motto is "A Way of Life" and, certainly, this luxurious resort town seems to have it all and is, once again, rising to the fore as a favourite location with the rich and famous, as well as more ordinary folk who are willing to pay just a little bit extra for southern Spain's answer to St Tropez.

Gibraltar

Steeped in a history that has evolved from its strategic location at the southernmost tip of the Iberian Peninsula, where Europe meets Africa, visitors are assured of breathtaking scenery, wildlife and architecture, that captures the unique flavour of this Mediterranean City and its inhabitants.

Puerto Banus

Puerto Banus is located just west of Marbella, before you reach the small town of San Pedro de Alcantara. This is the place to be pampered yachtside and ogle those fabulous luxury yachts while sipping a drink at one of the many open air restaurants and bars. The setting is close to ideal, with its impressive mountain backdrop and ocean views.

Mijas Pueblo, The White Village.

This tiny pueblo is one of the most beautiful villages on the Costa del Sol. Set high above sea level, and boasting some of the most amazing views of the whole coastline of the Costa it makes it one of the most wonderful days out. The pueblo of Mijas is located only a 10 minute drive from the apartment, where you can spend the day wandering through the narrow cobbled streets. Mijas has become the home to many artists and writers, probably because of the breathtaking views and the benefit of being so close to the coastal towns as well. It would be hard to be lost for inspiration up here. There are many craft shops with pottery and paintings from local artists.

Within Mijas there are so many beautiful streets that have to be seen, it would be unfair to mention any one of them . Tiny shops line most of them, all brimming with the local wares such as ceramics and leatherwork, jewellery and paintings. One of the best ways to see the village is by means of the local taxi service, being a quaint, typical Spanish donkey service. For 6€ you can take a donkey ride around the streets, or indulge in luxury and spend 12€ for a small cart pulled by a donkey. Horse and carriages work the summer months and can be found in Plaza de Pina.

Other attractions include the village bullring which strangely enough is of oval construction, opened in 1900 and still providing entertainment in the form of bullfights and horse displays to this day. The Mijas Museum in the old town hall has a wealth of exhibits and a gallery of work by local artists. The bullfighting museum is located at the bullring and is dedicated to the history of bullfighting.

Visit historical Ronda, dating back to the 12th Century, and is one of the most popular tourist destinations to head to for its amazing views, the deep El Tajo gorge that the Rio Guadalevin runs through its centre. While you are here head to the 18th Century Puente Nuevo bridge and take a moment to soak in the views of the Serrania de Ronda Mountains. On this bridge you are standing 100 meters above a chasm. If you are here in September, head to the Feria Goyesca, where you can see modern bullfighting and get the idea of what the old traditional sport use to be about. At the bull ring there is a museum where you can read all about the history of bullfighting. Get lost wandering around the cobbled streets and take in the beauty of the stunning town mansions that are occupied by some of Ronda's most influential families. It will take you approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour to drive from the apartment. It is possible to take a bus trip from Fuengirola to Ronda.

For fantastic skiing and breathtaking views, head to the Sierra Nevadas in the winter months. The Sierra's are approximately 1.5 to 2 hours drive from La Hacienda. All equipment can be hired up there, and it is also possible to take a bus up to there as well. The hire prices are not overpriced!

There is a picnic area to the right of the apartment with a bar serving bar snacks, open till late, or when the last person leaves. To the right of the apartment there is another bar / restaurant serving good local food. In the front of the apartment there are a row of shops comprising of an internet cafe, supermarket, clothes shops, bakery and pharmacy. All prices in and around the apartment are reasonable, with a beer for about 1.50€ and a glass of wine for about 1€.

The apartment has two tennis courts, these are availble for anyone to use free of charge.

** All bookings made within 30 days of arrival require full payment. * Discounts are available on rentals of 2 weeks or more.

** The number of persons (adults & children) must not exceed the number of sleeping places.

** Please note that beach towels are not provided.

** Remember that it is always advisable that when traveling to a foreign country that you take out adequate Travel Insurance to cover yourself and your family.

** We can also help with booking your flights and giving you suggestions on different places to visit.

** A friendly and trustworthy 'Meet and Greet' service is also available from Malaga airport at an extra cost. Your return journey can also be handled for you as well. If you would like to know more about this service, please let us know at the time of your booking.
