The Costa del Sol/Malaga region
When we have a chance to get away from our hectic lives we want to relax and unwind perhaps forget work for a while where better than the beautifully scenic Costa del Sol.
The Costa del Sol (Sunshine Coast) is named because it averages over 320 days of sunshine throughout the year. No wonder it is many people's choice for winter breaks as well as summer holidays.
The coast consists of a series of large beaches, coves hidden among cliffs, harbours and fishing villages. Its mild climate and long sunny, summer days have made this are of Spain an ideal holiday destination for Europeans for the last four decades.
Whether you're looking for sunshine, have a passion for golf or just prefer to spot the rich and famous on their yachts in Puerto Banus, the Costa del Sol has something for you. Malaga is the centre and capital of the region.
Mijas Costa / Riviera Del Sol Miraflores area
There is so much to do and see around Mijas Costa. The lovely white village of Mijas Pueblo is a few kilometres away, the sophisticated resorts of Puerto Banus and Marbella can be reached in 25 minutes and an hour's drive will get you to Gibraltar, where you can experience a little bit of Britain with Spanish sunshine and enjoy some duty-free shopping.
Riviera has its own new plaza which houses numerous shops, cafe's, Tapas bars, English style sports bars and restaurants which appeal to every taste including Max's beach bar & Restaurant which is set on the beach front. There are numerous banks, currency exchanges and a large supermarket in the plaza.
Puerto Banus is worth visiting just to marvel at the fabulous boats in the marina and people watch for celebrities.
If it is a golf course you are looking for then you are spoilt for choice with some of the best golf courses in the world on your door step.
Also within the area is horse riding, Hippodrome (the only horse racing course in the Costa del Sol - 10 minutes drive),aqua parks, Fuengirola Zoo, Tivoli World in Benalmadena and Selwo marina and safari park in Estepona.
Where to Go:
There is a wide selection of shops, bars, restaurants, a supermarket, beach etc within a 10 minute walk from the apartment. Please have a look at www.rivieradelsol.co.uk which is a website dedicated purely to the very local area, for lots of ideas on where to eat, drink and shop. If you have a car or fancy public transport (which is excellent in Spain), and want to explore a bit further afield, you will find below some suggestions of tasty eateries up and down the coast – all within a 20 minute drive.
The coastal bus service is very efficient, running regular buses up and down the N340 that will take you West to Puerto Banus, Marbella, and East to La Cala, Benalmadena, Fuengirola etc. The bus stops are on both carriageways of the main coast road – the N340, and are quite easy to spot. The “urbanisations” – or suburbs, are named by their exits off the N340, so for example, if you want to go to Nikki Beach Club in Elviria by bus, you need to find a bus that stops by the Elviria exit off the N340.
Shopping:
LA CANADA – HUGE shopping centre, like an American mall, with lots of shops (clothes, furniture, gifts, all sorts) and restaurants. Off the N340 between Marbella and Porto Banus
EL CORTE INGLES, Porto Banus – huge department store
Porto Banus Town and Marina Front – lots of individual tourist and designer boutiques including Poco Loco on the marina front – cheap and cheerful T shirts, clothes and accessories
Beach Clubs
The beach runs right across the coast and the nearest beach is at the bottom of the hill – there is a restaurant / bar that serves that part of the beach, but if you want to try some other areas here are some suggestions -
NIKKI BEACH CLUB at Elviria – next to the Don Carlos Hotel – luxurious beds on the beach with bar, restaurant, waiter service, massage…
THE CHICKEN SHACK – café bar near La Cala with music and beds on the beach
DON CARLOS HOTEL – Elviria, 5 star hotel has swimming pools right on the beach so you can have a sunbed by the pool and still get the breeze. There is also a bar that serves food.
MAX BEACH BAR – this is at the bottom of the hill at Riviera, so it’s the local beach. Max Beach Bar has a huge deck overlooking the sea and there are beds to hire on the sand. Food all day and open in the evenings too. LA CALA – stretch of lovely beach with cafes
PUERTO BANUS – Busy beach with watersports, cafes, and lots of beautiful people!
How to get there
Fly to Malaga airport, cheap flights available from, flybe, tompson, easyjet, monarch, bmi baby, jet2, ryan air.
There are a number of car rental companies available from Malaga Airport, These can be booked prior to your arrival or from the customer desks inside the terminal.
Taxis are available from the airport directly to the apartment at a cost of around 50 Euros each way.
We can arrange for an english speaking representative to be on hand to meet you at your time of arrival at the apartment with your keys if you request (by request). If you request this the apartment keys must be left in the apartment on departure.
Alternatively the key to the apartment will be sent by special delivery 1 week prior to departure. We request these be returned by special delivery on returning back to England. Your security deposit will be refunded once we have safe return of the keys.

Royal golf Riviera is situated in Riviera del Sol only 20 minutes drive west of Malaga International Airport and ten minutes east of Marbella with views over the Mediterranean Sea and the seventh hole belonging to the famous Miraflores golf resort and is only 50 metres from the club house which is an ideal place in the evenings watching the beautiful sunsets over the mountains with a drink in hand the staff here are extremely friendly and welcome visitors.

We do not have any limit of time when checking out unless there is another booking due to arrive on your departure day.
Our apartment is in a small building and is in a quiet area but only a short distance from a dozen or so restaurants and commercial centres. We welcome couples, mature persons, and families with well behaved children. Good behaviour is expected . Sorry no young singles/groups
Conditions
A £100 non refundable deposit is required to secure a booking with the balance due 8 weeks prior to departure.
Water, Electricity, Heating and Air Conditioning is included in the price, however a refundable deposit of £100.00 is required to cover breakages, excess use of electricity, any excess cleaning or loss of keys. This deposit is to be paid 8 weeks prior to departure and is returned on receipt of the keys.
