About the home

This luxurious, brand new Mediterranean style apartment is located two minutes walk from the prestigious 18 hole, Calanova Golf Club, and only 5 minutes drive from the charming old fishing pueblo of La Cala, with it's unspoilt golden sandy beaches, and numerous restaurants, small shops , and local market for bargain hunting and souvenir shopping. Being only about 20 minutes drive to the East to Malaga airport, and to the West, the world renowned marinas and resorts of Marbella and Puerto Banus, the apartment is perfectly situated for a golf, beach or family touring holiday.

The apartment is a relaxing haven with it's cool marble floored living room opening onto a large terrace with panoramic views over the golf course and to the sea. Furnished with large table and comfortable chairs it is the perfect place to dine al fresco, or relax with a cool drink and watch the sunset over the Mediterranean.

There is flexible accommodation with two bathrooms and one twin bedroom and the master room that can be used as a superking double or twin beds, making it ideal for either families, couples or groups of golfing singles.

The dining area has a large elegant table and comfortable leather chairs, whilst the lounge boasts a luxurious L shaped leather sofa, satellite tv, & dvd/cd player (please bring your own cd/dvds).

Master bedroom has en suite bathroom with bath , shower & bidet, and sliding doors leading to the terrace, offering stunning views. The superking sized bed can be used as two singles if required - please request when booking. The second bedroom has twin beds and use of a second shower room. Both rooms have large built in wardrobes with chest of drawers inside.

The fully fitted kitchen has marble worktops, Smeg ceramic hob, oven, fridge & freezer and washing machine. A clothes airer, iron & board are provided, as well as all utensils and modern conveniences needed to make your holiday enjoyable.

There are six swimming pools including a children's pool, all set within beautiful tropical gardens, in this secure gated community. Due to the number of pools they do not get overcrowded, and you can usually find one to your self. Dotted around the scented gardens you will find seats which are ideal for relaxing with a good book or just watching others have fun in the pool, and there is an ample supply of new sun beds for you to use.

Secure underground parking, lifts and storage room - ideal for golf clubs etc.

The Costa del Sol region

The Costa del Sol is aptly named, averaging over 300 days of sunshine per year. It's sweeping golden coastline, with 161km of beaches is backed by dramatic mountain ranges. It is possible to ski in the Sierra Nevada - only about 2 hours drive away from the apartment. Whatever you enjoy doing on your holiday you can find it here in Andalucia.

If you like history & culture why not visit Granada, Seville or Jerez, the home of sherry and the famous equestrian school. If you don't like to drive, numerous day trips are available in the locality, and Gibraltar is well worth a visit with it's English feel and duty free shopping. The famous town of Marbella, with it's designer shops and busy nightlife, and the marina of Puerto Banus where you can spot the celebrities and millionaires on their luxury yachts are a short drive along the coast.

For the children there are numerous theme parks, attractions, zoos, marinas and wildlife parks all along the coast. Tourist leaflets and information will be provided in the apartment for you on arrival.

The Mijas Costa / La Cala de Mijas area

Mijas Costa is in the heart of the " Valley of Golf" with numerous golf courses within easy reach - the nearest being Calanova Golf Club, right on the doorstep, which also has a restaurant and bar - ideal for a drink without the worry of driving.

The nearest sandy beach, restaurants, shops and supermarket, are approximately 5 mins drive away in La Cala, an attractive, very Spanish unspoilt village.

Mijas village, a short drive into the mountains, is one of the original white villages, and with it's narrow streets, donkey taxis and quaint buildings it is a definite 'must see'. It is ideal for souvenir shopping, selling local pottery and handicrafts.

Slightly further afield about 11/2 hours scenic, mountainous drive is the town of Ronda, famous for it's dramatic bridge (the Puerto Nuevo ) spanning a deep gorge, it's ancient bullring and narrow cobbled streets.

Horse riding can be found only 5 minutes away from your apartment, as well as horse racing at the Hippodrome. Almost any other sport you can think of is within easy reach with water sports, fishing and diving all along the coast.

“Beautiful Apartment” We stayed in Calanova in September and would thoroughly recommend the apartment to friends and family. Views from the apartment over the golf course and pools were great, it was a pleasure to have breakfast and lunch there each day. You definitely need a car for the apartments as it would be too far to walk into La Cala which is a nice town, with the motorway you have easy access to all of the coastal resorts. We spent most days at the pool and at the most there was 4 other people there, so very peaceful and tranquil. Its worth the trip, only 20 mins or so into Mijas, lovely town, there was a festival there when we visited and the atmosphere was lovely, great tapas bars and very picturesque. The apartments are very spacious and would easily accommodate a family with two large bedrooms and plenty of living space, we were pleasantly surprised. I wouldn't hesitate to return to these apartments for a relaxing break in the sunshine
