Below the town are many of the most popular resorts on the Costa del Sol
Cabopino: (3-5 mins drive)
Cabopino beach are situated on the coast, halfway between Fuengirola and Marbella. Miles of beautiful sandy beaches with water sports, fishing and boat trips. There is also a pleasant harbour and renowned restaurants. Cabopino is one of the Costa del Sol's best kept secrets. Ideal for kids as shallow water!!
Marbella: (10 mins drive)
One of the most delightful promenades on the Costa Del Sol, with its classy restaurants and bars overlooking the beach front. A visit to the Orange Square will bring you to a host of street restaurants in the old part of Marbella.
Puerto Banus: (15 mins drive)
Mega rich yachts, world famous fashion shops, Casino, shopping centre, top beaches and spectacular views make this place special.. The nightlife is buzzing with numerous Bars & Restaurants overlooking the marina. Hire a yacht and go out into the Mediterranean
Benalmadena: (30 mins drive)
A lively resort with its beautiful sandy beaches & a spectacular promenade 2km long. Visit the Marina Plaza, often described as Covent Garden on water. Other attractions include the Tivoli World theme park.
Mijas Pueblo: (20 mins drive)
One of the prettiest villages in Spain, this traditional village has breath taking views. Take a donkey ride to explore the charm of this village on the famous. Also lookout for the Mineral water spring at the entrance to the village
Ronda: (50 mins drive)
Ronda is truly a spectacular village, famous throughout Spain for the plunging river gorge which divides this enchanting village. Ronda also has the oldest & most beautiful bullring in the whole of Spain.
The Mijas Hippodrome, ( a racetrack) is situated a few km's from Riviera which has meetings every week and includes lots of entertainment around the course. Anyone visiting Mijas will of course want to wander through the beautiful, whitewashed mountain Pueblo to enjoy the spectacular views.
There are numerous organised trips to Morocco, Gibraltar Rhonda etc available to book within the village area
If you want to explore further afield there are many car rental agencies that will allow you to pick up a car at the airport and leave it there once finished. In the retail complex is a hire car company called Fetajo which I would recommend as they are very competitive with good quality cars and no hassle petrol wise. They will rent cars for your entire holiday or for just a few days. Pick up and drop off at the airport can be arranged.
Gibraltar: (90 mins drive)
Tax free shopping (Don't forget to take your passport along when visiting).
It is a must see visit like stepping out of Spain back into England within 5 minutes!.. Here you have a multitude of English High Street stores and wines, spirits, perfumes and cigarettes are duty free. When you visit Gibraltar, you will find that the people are friendly, helpful and always polite. They are very proud and if you visit on September 10th (National Day) wear red and white to help celebrate and to fit in!
Mijas Costa / Riviera del Sol
The apartment is a pleasant 25 minute drive from the airport and is situated on one of the lowest parts of Riviera del Sol.
It is within 5 minutes walk to 2 retail complexes where there are supermarkets and various other shops. There are a number of restaurants and bars where you can enjoy a quiet meal or a cool Sangria!
Available but not exclusively:
Bars (with free Wi-Fi)
It is an 8-10 minute walk to the nearest beach where there are more bars and eating facilities. The long sandy beach is well cared for, clean, soft and golden sand with sunbeds and parasols for rental. Max Beach Bar sits right on the beach at Riviera del Sol and offers a lovely view out to the sea. It is a great place to go for a drink in the evening when the weather has been hot as you get the cooling effect of the sea.
The local bus service and a taxi rank are just 5 minutes from the apartment. The buses are very cheap.
The Aztec club is 2 minutes walk from the apartment. In that complex are two bars with snack food, a good Italian restaurant, a gym, a heated pool, sun loungers, mini golf, hairdresser, and tennis courts. On certain days they provide an all inclusive deal with access to the pool and loungers and a full barbecue meal for around 10-15 euros. Watch some of the young kids there play tennis! They will astound you.
There are over 60 golf courses in the province of Malaga (more than any other province in Spain). More than 30 of these are to be found in the 'Costa del Golf' area.
So within 10-30 minutes drive from the apartment you will find several. The closest (Miraflores) is actually only 1 min away plus a driving range.
Calahonda is a 10-15 minute walk. There are a variety of restaurants, shops and bars/ discos, one in Calahonda and one at Max Beach. There are two major supermarkets there one in the main complex and one 100m up the hill. Both are good but the one in the main complex has a very competitive offering of fresh meat and fish with an onsite butcher and fishmonger.
La Cala a pretty little town is 5 minutes from Riviera by bus and has over a dozen restaurants and bars There are plenty of things to see and do for a day out. There is a large market each Saturday and Wednesday from early till 14-00.
Fuengirola (10Km) and Marbella (25Km) can both be reached on the local bus if you don't have a car. The beaches in both are magnificent and the array of shops and bars a paradise for shoppers. Both are exceptionally good places to shop for clothes and shoes. Fuengirola has a large market open on Tuesday and Saturday from early till 14-00.
Parque Aquatico Mijas is one of the main water parks on the coast and is located along the main road heading towards Fuengirola. "Excellent location to explore the Costa del Sol."
Lovely apartment with a large terrace to enjoy a beautiful sea view. Excellent base to explore the area. Close to Marbella and Puerto Banus, with lovely beaches on your doorstep. Highly recommend La Cala beach, and Cabo Pino beach.
All the essential facilities were nearby, with good choices of supermarkets, cafe's and restaurants (too many to mention).
The very friendly owners of the apartment had provided two folders containing detailed information of what you could do in the area, and places to visit. These were extremely useful.

"Lovely apartment. A home from home. Wi Fi is spot on."
I have just sent you a link from Trip Advisor asking you kindly to give our apartment a review. If you can spare a few minutes and do so, it will be much appreciated. If you want please copy and paste your comments as follow...
We have been holidaying on the Costa Del Sol/Golf for the past 10 years. We have stayed at many different apartments in various locations, from golf to sea views. Each one has had its plus & minus points, however this apartment has a lot of positive points and no negative points. The apartment was not over personal, but comfortable & clean. As professionals our lives at home are extremely busy, the last two weeks has been peaceful, relaxing and a total change. WIFI was a bonus, so we weren't too desert island.
Will be returning soon.

Had a lovely stay and sunny weather. Used the terrace very often, very good it has a dinner table and lounge seat and sunbeds. Inside we appreciate the kitchen with everything to prepare a meal. Great bonus is the WIFI that works great! We had a rental car, but for some shopping the supermarket is nearby and you can walk there. Did a horse ride in Casares with "riding fun in the sun" you can even have a ride if you are a non-rider.
Had dinner @ Ginza. Teppanyaki table is fun and the food is fresh. Went to shopping mall La Canada and had lunch at Mr Wok. Good quality food and sushi. Also had dinner at the WOK in La Cala De Mijas, cosy ambiance, nice buffet, the food you can have wokked is very greasy, he uses a lot of olive oil.
To escape the dull, cold rainy weather (at home) this place/ apartment is wonderful. Visit the inland or just have a coffee (and brandy) @ Fuengirola in the sun.
Thanks Nayana for your warm welcome and the smooth communication by whatsapp or mail.

Arriving to Vista Hermosa we were welcomed by Nayana Adams and when we came to the apartment we felt us at home from day one.
The apartment are well furnished so we had no problem to relax during our 4 weeks stay
The terrazzo is perfect both for morning son and late afternoon son
The Wifi is a big plus because it was possible to connect the computer to the Samsung tv and in that way follow what happen at home in Denmark.
The location is perfect if you would like to go to Marbella or Fuengirola. 10 min and you are there.
Miraflores Golf club is very close (3 min) and very exiting.
No doubt we enjoyed our stay and will come back next Year just 8 weeks instead of 4 weeks
Thanks a lot

"The marvelous apartment on Costa del Sol"
We´ve been spending in Vista Hermosa our holidays in early September. It was really a nice time to come to Costa del Sol and I and my husband had an unforgettable experience. To a great extant it was thanks to our very right choice of the apartment to stay.
While describing Vila Hermosa, perfect location of the apartment first of all should be mentioned. It is located in Riviera del Sol quite close to the sea (it only took us about 10 minutes of a pleasant walk with a nice park on our way to get to the beach). Moreover, there were no problems with some basic shopping (like water, bread, etc.) as a supermarket was also on our way to the beach. The beach itself at this time of the year was just perfect: not crowded, clean and with very nice view over the sea cliffs and the distant ship sailing to Malaga and back. The sea shelf was very comfortable to start swimming, no stones or something under your feet. And we had long and heavenly pleasant swims all day long without even thinking of trying some other more famous beaches which were also in quite short distance by car or by bus.
But after a whole day of active swimming and sunbathing you have a great need to come back to something like your sweet home. And Vista Hermosa is well tiled for the need. The apartment is nit and tidy. The furniture is comfortable and the whole design is very carefully thought over revealing good taste of the owners. Furthermore, you can feel that this property was originally planned to live comfortably in, not just to let it for the tourists. The kitchen should be particularly mentioned. Being keen on cooking I appreciated very much that the kitchen was not a nominal addition but a well-organized fully functional room, equipped with all the basic things you need to prepare a nice meal (including even 2 good culinary books on Spanish cuisine).
So we had every chance to create romantic atmosphere for our after-sea evenings and nights. We cooked together and then enjoyed a Spanish style fish or sea food supper on the broad terrace with a marvelous look over the sea. The candle lights and the south stars and the young moon all helped us to forget anything in the world except for us being along with all this beauty...
So it´s not surprising that we never happened to use the seemingly good TV set with a range of English speaking channels as well as hardly used Wi-Fi of a good speed. Nor did we visited any restaurants in the vicinity, may be because didn´t quite like any of them.
What also should be mentioned is that we in our happy loneliness didn´t happen to suffer from any noizy or unpleasant neighbors. In fact we almost didn´t see them which is a rare thing during the seaside holiday, I suppose.
And last but not least, the owners appeared very nice and helpful people! The apartment was ready for us in time, we were provided with all the possible instructions and when we needed something, they were right ready to help in a most efficient way.
The only thing we might call a dislike during our stay was the choice of fruit, vegetables and fish in the local supermarket. We went to Fuengirola to buy it 3 times during our 10 days´ stay (a good thing that the fridge in Vista Hermosa was big and cold enough to room all our purchases). But definitely this is a slight disadvantage only for such a picky housewife as I am. Anyway Fuengirola is also a nice place to visit with an easy and quick bus access.
To finish with we only want to say thank you for Robin and Nayana for our best of the best holidays and highly recommend the apartment for those seeking calm, romantic and comfortable rest on Costa del Sol.

"A great place to top up your tan and catch up with your reading"
Ideally located in a small gated community only a 5 minute walk from a range of eateries and bars. Its hillside position with large south facing balcony offers great views over the roofs of surrounding properties out to the sea below. The grounds of the small complex were very clean, tidy and plants well tended. When we visited it was very quiet and peaceful and we had a fantastic holiday.

I stayed at this apartment over a long weekend with a friend, we were looking for some sun and a relaxing weekend away which is what we got. The apartment is lovely, clean and well maintained and also seemed very safe and secure. It's about a 10 minute walk downhill to shops and restaurants and then over the main road to the beach. Just remember the walk back is uphill so don't buy lots of heavy things such as watermelon, which is the mistake that we made! There is a balcony which the sun shines on from early morning and the apartment has everything you could need. We even had a bottle of wine left for us which went down well on our first night. Would definitely stay again.
