The Andalucia region

The Costa del Sol is still said to be one of the most popular destinations for British Holiday makers. With over 300 days on sun a year you are never short of things to do. The most popular towns being Marbella, Fuengirola & Benalmadena all within a short driving distance of each other.

Around the Costa's towns there are a number of beaches, shopping centres, water parks & Golf Courses. At evening you have the beautiful ports of Marbella, Fuengirola or Benalmadena where you can enjoy a meal or drink in the numerous bars & restaurants in the areas.

In the winter you can drive up to the snow packed resort of Sierra Nevada about 1 1/2 hours and hit the slopes for a day of skiing.

Overall you will never be short of things to do no matter what time of year you decide to visit , this is what makes the Costa Del Sol one of the most popular destinations for holiday makers.

The choices are vast here from -

Marbella & the famous Puerto Banus Marina with famous faces and shops, clubs and restaurants

Fuengirola - with everything from englsh cinema to zoo .and aquapark.

Mijas Pueblo - most picturesque "white village" with cobbled streets fantastic views.

Malaga - with original charm, tapas bars and the Cathedral La Alcazaba the moorish fortress, so lavish, it rivals any of the principal Arabian Palaces!

Rhonda - inland to the valley with super twin gorge and old bullrings and arabian baths.

Mijas Costa

Whether you are young or old, here for a quiet time or the abundant night life you cannot fail to be impressed. This location really does have it all whether you are here on honeymoon, clubbing or enjoying some time away with your family. Fuengirola marina with its many attractions is only a 5 minute drive away, for the family they too are really spoilt for choice with the Sea World Dolphin park a 15 minute drive away, Tivolli World, Benalmadena Sea World, not to mention the crocodile park and water park also being a must visit on the edge of Torremolinas.

When finished there why not head down to Benamadena Marina, shop until you drop or just enjoy a wonderful meal in one of the many themed restaurants. For those that wish to go clubbing, or even want a quiet drink Fuengirola has numerous bars, pubs and clubs for all ages and tastes where you can party until dawn. If you want to party & shop with the rich and famous, you can head to Marbella only a 20 min drive away. This property has something to offer everybody yet is still only walking distance from the beach, supermarket, bars and restaurants!

A Costa that comes with extras

Sandwiched between Torremolinos and Marbella, the former fishing village of Fuengirola is now one of the Costa del Sol's biggest players. It's got the high-rise hotels, buzzing bars and tourist-friendly restaurants to prove it, but there are also side streets and squares crammed with upmarket tapas places and chic boutiques. And a Moorish castle adds a bit of history. The real draw, though, is the super-sized sandy beach.

A brace of Blue Flag beaches

Fuengirola has a whopping 8 kilometres of sand, split into 8 different beaches. It kicks off at the castle and streaks westwards past the marina to Carvajal in the east. Rows of loungers await sunseekers and all sorts of watersports are on standby. And there are chiringuitos – mini-restaurants right on the sand – plus reams of food and drink places on the Paseo Maritimo, which spans the whole stretch.

Lively nightlife

Fuengirola firmly embraces its nightlife. The Paseo Maritimo keeps up the Costa spirit with an energetic collection of Brit bars, Irish pubs and discos. Meanwhile, the area in and around the Plaza de la Constitucion – the town's main square – picks up the traditional Spanish vibe with chichi tapas bars and bodegas, or wine cellars.

Daytrips to Granada

It's less than 2 hours to Granada. Here, at the foot of the Sierra Nevada mountains, the must-see is the Alhambra Palace, a vast Moorish citadel that dates back to the 14th century. It's an architectural wonder, with latticed columns and ceilings that look they've been carved out of honeycomb. And close by are the Generalife Gardens, all fountains and cypress-lined paths.

"Amazing-wouldn't hesitate to go back!"

I'm not one to normally review anything but would def recommend! Overall- Fab location, private pool, close to the beach, nearby shops. Interior was nice and modern. Plenty to do for the kids- the tv and free wifi were an added bonus! Looked after from start to finish and property owners were avail to contact at all times- friendly and welcoming. Special thankyou to Alex for making it a great stay :)
