This luxury 2 bedroom, 2.5 bathroom townhouse is situated in a prime location in La Cala de Mijas overlooking the La Noria golf course, and is an ideal base for exploring the rich and diverse attractions of the Costa del Sol. This duplex apartment is in the Las Terrazas de Calamijas private community with security access, underground parking, large pool and paddle tennis court, and benefits from stunning views of La Cala and the Mediterranean Sea on one side, and the Mijas Costa mountains on the other. The townhouse is available for summer and winter holiday rental and is fully equipped for that self-catering holiday, including satellite tv, cd and dvd, jacuzzi, washing machine and dishwasher. The apartment has extensive outside terraces with both privacy and access to all-day sunshine. Of the two bedrooms, the master bedroom comes with its own en-suite with bath & jacuzzi whilst the second bedroom has access to the shower room. The Costa del Sol/Malaga region
The Costa del Sol is an all-year-round holiday destination providing numerous sporting, family and cultural activities. Golf courses abound in this area providing some of the best courses in Europe. A vast variety of sporting activities are available including water sports, riding, cycling, tennis, walking.
Family attractions include water parks at Fuengirola and Torremolinos, Tivoli World theme park in Benalmadena, Fuengirola zoo, Sea-life centre, go-karting, mini-bikes and much more.
The vibrant spanish life is depicted across this Andalucian region and can be sampled in numerous locations including the larger cities of Malaga, Seville, Cadiz and Grenada, further inland throught the towns of Coin, Elhaurin, Benahavis or Mijas, or in any of the small andalusian villages. Take a visit to Ronda to the bullring and gorge.
For those wishing to travel further, the ski resort of Sierra Nevada is about 2 hours away and Gibraltar, with its history and duty-free shopping is about 1 hour. Make sure you visit the famous apes on the rock and stock up in Marks & Spencers ! There are also various trips available to North African destinations.
Mijas Costa / La Cala de Mijas area
La Cala is situated midway between Fuengirola and Marbella. The town and beach is approx 15 minutes walk down hill or 3 minutes drive from the apartment. Numerous shops, bars and restaurants are located in the town around the central tree-lined plaza offering a wide variety of cuisine. There are also a number of beach front cafes in which to relax on a sunny day.
The award winning La Cala beach extends all the way to Calahonda and onwards to Capobino. A small children's playground is located on the beach front. There is a market every wednesday and Saturady in La Cala located at the bottom of the hill near the La Noria golf course. A variety of stalls offer fresh produce, clothing, gifts and local products.
The Club del Sol and Lew Hoad tennis centres are a short drive away. The choice of golf courses within the area is huge and details of the courses can be found at www.sunshine-golf.co.uk or visit their shop at La Cala. The apartment overlooks the La Noria golf course and driving range.
There are numerous locations to indulge in a range of watersports including water-skiing, wind-surfing and scuba diving.
Calahonda and the fabulous marina at Capobino are no more than 10 minutes drive away. The Hippodrome racecourse is located directly in La Cala for those who enjoy a flutter on the horses. The exclusive resorts of Marbella and Puerto Banus with their fabulous shops, restaurants and nightlife are within 15 minutes, as is the ‘La Canada’ shopping complex outside Marbella.
In the opposite direction, the bustling resorts of Fuengirola, Benalmadena and Torremolinos are a short drive away.
How to get there
The nearest airport is at Malaga, approx 20-25 minutes drive from the apartment. Gibraltar airport is also a possible destination about one to one and a half hours drive. Easyjet , Monarch, bmibaby, Thomson and British Airways all fly to Malaga. Car hire companies we have used successfully are Helle Hollis, Record and Crown all located within the airport and bookable over the web. We also use www.holidayautos.co.uk to source good car hire deals.

Further details indoors: The apartment is designed on 2 staggered levels with the entrance level containing the lounge/diner, kitchen and cloakroom. The kitchen is fully-equipped with hob, oven, fridge, freezer, washing machine, dishwasher and microwave. The lounge has table and chairs for 6, a sofa bed, armchair, satellite tv and dvd/cd/mp3 player. Patio doors lead to a large, private terrace furnished with a table and 6 chairs.
The 2 bedrooms are located downstairs from the lounge. The master bedroom has an en-suite bathroom with bath, jacuzzi and shower and a large fitted wardrobe with plenty of drawer space. Patio doors lead onto the private lower terrace. The second bedroom has twin beds and a large fitted wardrobe with access to the second shower room.
The sofa bed in the lounge can accommodate an additional 2 people.
Further details outdoors: The apartment has extensive outside space with 3 separate terraces. The lower terrace leads off the master bedroom, the lounge terrace with its pergola is ideal for those outside meals. Further outside stairs lead up to the sun terrace on the roof offering stunning views of the coast and mountains and providing an ideal place for barbecues and soaking up the all-day sun.

Reservations are secured with a 50% deposit - balance due 6 weeks prior to holiday start date.
