15 Angel's Yard is a very well presented apartment set in wonderful surrounds in the charming town of Midhurst. Converted from a brewery, the cottage is one of several which have been sympathetically restored in keeping with the traditional adjacent buildings. Its mellow brick and stone fronted appearance ensures that it blends in perfectly and it enjoys modern fittings combined with character. Approached via an exterior stone stairway, the first thing that strikes you is the view you have from this first floor location. Although close to the heart of Midhurst, the only thing between you and the countryside views are the well maintained communal gardens of the development.

The very comfortable sitting/dining room enjoys the same views making it a wonderful place to relax. There is a very well equipped and cleverly designed kitchen, which has a dishwasher, washing machine, fridge/freezer and microwave. There are two bedrooms, one set up as a twin room with an en-suite bathroom, the other set-up as a double bedroom. There is also an additional shower room. The cottage enjoys the shared use of the pretty communal gardens. There is garden furniture so guests can enjoy a glass of wine and evening meal in these wonderful and tranquil surrounds. The grounds enjoy views towards the historic Cowdray Ruins, which sit in picturesque grounds where both cricket and polo are played. The cottage provides the perfect destination for holidays or short breaks and is a most comfortable base from which to explore all that this fantastic area has to offer.

The West Sussex region

This area enjoys some of the best levels of sunshine in Southern England. It also boasts numerous historical places of interest, such as the Roman Palace at Fishhbourne, the Weald & Downland Open Air Musueum. Goodwood House and Stansted Park are also fascinating places to visit, as is Arundel Castle. Spinnaker Tower in Portsmouth has some of the best panoramic views in the south.


Midhurst has been voted the most popular place in Britain to live in - some accolade! It is full of charming cobbled streets and quirky shops, as well as a variety of interesting and varied period properties. The town is steeped in history and many of the properties, as well as the surrounding land, are owned by the Cowdray Estate. Cottages owned by the estate are noticeable from their distinctive yellow painted woodwork and doors. There is a good mixture of shops and restaurants in the town, all of which are within walking distance. Angel's Yard itself is set in a secure gated environment, tucked away behind the Angel Hotel. If guests do not wish to cook their own meals, they can be in the hotel's restaurant in a matter of 30 seconds!

There are beautiful scenic walks in the town and also the nearby grounds of the Cowdray Ruins. There is a large duck pond within a ten minute walk and if you drive a few miles to the east, Petworth Park is a stunning setting with lakes and woodland walks, with a variety of wildlife including a prolific number of deer. Other places of interest to visit are Chichester, about 11 miles to the south, Portsmouth and Brighton, both within about an hour's drive. There is a mainline railway station to London from Haslemere, which lies just to the north. Activities include Polo and golf at Cowdray, horse racing and motor sports at Goodwood and the many water sports that the coast has to offer, about 45 minutes away.

"Extremely well equipped - a real home from home"

This property had absolutely everything we needed for a relaxing home away from home. The location is in the heart of the town behind the Angel Hotel. There is a really superb local butcher and baker… More

"Beautiful apartment in central Midhurst"

We stayed here for the weekend of our wedding. My bridesmaids and I used it to get ready on the morning of our wedding and my (now) husband and I stayed there the night of our wedding. I also spent the night in with my bridesmaids the night before the wedding. The apartment was absolutely perfect for us- spacious and beautiful living room with incredible views; beautiful bedrooms with lots of storage space; two decent bathrooms and well stocked kitchen.

Most notably, this was the only self-catering apartment in Midhurst willing to offer a weekend let over the polo season- most only take long-term lets. We are therefore SO grateful to the owners as it was just perfect and made an incredible weekend even more special. The light and space also made for some beautiful photos whilst we were getting ready in the morning.

It was a little pricier than we'd have liked just for a weekend but it was definitely worth the money in the end. Thank you!
