The Costa Dorada/Tarragona region
Miami Playa is on the beautiful Mediterranean's Costa Dorada (Golden Coast). The Costa Dorada's leading city is 'Tarragona', built by the Romans with the amphitheatre and aqueduct system still preserved-definitely worth a visit.
Miami Playa has one of the best beaches on the Costa Dorada called 'Platja Cristal' and is a 4 minute drive from the villa, with its clean, safe sandy beach with restaurants, bars and children's play area. The Town itself has everything you need. There are Supermarkets, Pharmacies, Clothes shops, Sports shops, Hair Salons etc. Not to mention the abundance of Cafes, Bars and Restaurants.
The Miami Playa area
If you want to wander further afield, there are so many places to visit, from large towns and resorts, to small fishing villages which are dotted along the coastline. A 20 minute drive takes you to the holiday resort of 'Salou', with its fabulous marble promenade and abundance of shops, bars, cafes, restaurants and nightclubs. Here you can take on the thrills of water skiing, paragliding, jet skiing and sailing. The famous Universals 'PortAventura' theme park and 'Costa Caribe' water park are also in Salou and is one of the Costa's main attractions. With some of the most entertaining and spectacular open air shows from various parts of the earth - A Must.
The close proximity of the 'Pyrenees Mountains' adds skiing, mountain biking, hiking and white water rafting to the activity list.
If sport is of interest, the villa is situated less than 5 minutes drive from the famous Bonmont Golf Course - one of Spains most prestigious golf courses - and has twice hosted the PGA Catalan open. Bonmont has also an international golf academy. Set in the most tranquil atmosphere, which lies in countryside characterised by rural Spain, surrounded by olive trees which border the fairways. You can enjoy an excellent meal from the 'a la Carte' menu whilst overlooking the spectacular views of the Spanish Riviera.
Another sport very close is Catalunya Fishing on the Ebro River, which contains some of the biggest Catfish in the world, with regular weights of 120lbs and over.
Barcelona is 1 and a half hours drive from the villa or the train (fully air conditioned and comfortable) will take you along the coast to the heart of this historic, vibrant and cosmopolitan city.
