Manor House | 4 bedrooms | sleeps 10
Family home with a soul. 160m2 inside and many acres of garden. Big rooms, traditional but modernized. Antique furniture but new beds. Great for family getogethers.
In the summer we set up a small circular pool, 5m wide, enough for the younger ones to have a lot of fun.
The garden is closed, so children and dogs are safe. All the pictures you see are within the gates.
The region is hilly and has charming landscapes, woods, ponds, rivers. Preserved nature. A big activity is bike rides. Horse riding is available 20 mn away. Tennis courts in the village. A very nice 9 hole golf course 10mn away by car, next to Mortemart, a "plus beaux villages de France" village. Another bigger course ½ h away.
Ours is the last house of the village. Shops on one side, open view on the other.
If you are a lover of old stones, old furniture, vintage objects and art work, you will love it here. The house was bought by an English woman who married a Frenchman, much before the region was discovered by the Brits a choice place to settle down.

"Country house with style"
A country house with style. We were thrilled as we drove up to the house and discovered one salon with fireplace, then another, and an office, all with a good feeling.
Upstairs are four big rooms and three bathrooms. All we needed was there. Good kitchen, where we were spending quite a lot of family time. The house is big and stylish but remaining cosy. It was prepared for real living in, not for rental. It was a great between stop on our way to south, after a long drive. A week in green area with extensive garden was good for the children.

"Cool, calm and authentic"
This place seemed better than many high-end hotels: equivalentbeautiful authentic house with old stone walls, very well organized, 5 large bedrooms plus a smaller kid's room (actually the sweetest according to my 13-yr daughter), living room, dining room and large kitchen (which was plenty large enough for family meals when we were not having them in the garden). All of it furnished with beautiful antique furniture, but modern bedding and commodities (5 bathrooms with toilet), and surrounded by a wonderful garden. The garden was great for the whole family: incredible freshness throughout the day, huge old trees, plenty of lawn space (the photograph of the golf player is real: there is enough room for (amateur) golf practising) to set up a badmington net in the shade of the large trees. A week was barely enough to enjoy the activities provided around the beautiful countryside of 'Les Monts de Blond' in particular: Horseback, bicycle riding (Electric bikes can be rented just a few miles away for easier touring of the Monts de Blond), swimming pool, golf, because the pleasure of the house was making us lazy about going places, and the nice small village had all amenities needed at walking distance.
This place I recommend for having a peaceful and restful week with family or/and friends in century-old surroundings.
