"Perfecte tussenstop naar het zuiden in deze C d'H"

This family stayed in our B&B accommodation, so not to be confused with the self-catering gite. However, delighted as always to hear that they enjoyed their stay at Les Hirondelles

"Excellent gite, conveniently located"

We spent almost 2 weeks in this gite in November 2012 on a house-hunting trip. We found Juliet and Geoff very helpful indeed. The gite was well equipped in every way. The bedrooms were large and very comfortable. The kitchen/diner had everything needed to self-cater.
As it was November, we needed heating, and there was an extremely generous amount of logs provided for the log burner, so that we were warm and cosy. The fire was even blazing away when we arrived.
The only slight problem for us was that the wi-fi works best in the garden - not ideal in November, though we were welcome to go into the main house at any time to use our laptop there.

Mezieres-sur-Issoire has a bar tabac, a good general store, and a hotel/restaurant which is open at certain times in the week. It is only 15 minutes from Bellac, the beautiful Monts Blond, and about 30 minutes from St Junien and Confolons. Though Les Hirondelles is tucked away from it, the road through the village is currently very busy but that should change completely once the bypass is built.

We would recommend this gite wholeheartedly.

"Just what we needed"

Thank you Juliette and Trevor for a fantastic stay. Our first visit to France as a family that has made us look again for 2013. Your hospitality was 2nd to none.
The gite has all you could ask for in a holiday home, very spacious too. We went visited the back of May/early June and had a good spell of weather so we made use of the pool. The gite is away from the main road so no need to worry about noise or passing traffic if you go with kids. An enclosed pool is terriffic with plenty of green around it for sitting in the sun or playing.
The town of Mezieres is quiet with a great bakery for breakfast essentials and bar serving food, play park but perfect to escape the hustle and bustle. Bellac is only a short drive for shopping and walk by the river. Likewise, a nice drive will get you to Poitiers and Limousin in under an hour.
Peaceful surrounding roads for thse who like a run (even on holiday the trainers are packed!).
We will definately return to Les Hirondelles in the future, we recommend.
