The Chalet is located within a private Race horse training yard set in 35 hectors of calm and peaceful forest overlooking the Gallops. It is self contained with private drive access and parking. With exclusive use of the private Indoor swimming pool with sliding patio doors on to the sun bathing patio and garden area. A bonus is the use of the sauna with shower facilities so you can just relax and pamper yourself. If you want a long romantic weekend or a holiday just to get away from everything this is defintly the place to relax. This location is peaceful and tranquile with plenty of privacy.

All the beds are fitted with crisp clean Egyptian cotton bedding and and Fresh clean cotton hand and bath towls provided. The accommodation available for rent. Balcony view from the double bedroom over the Gallops you can watch the race horses from your balcony training on the gallops first thing in the morning or you can relax with a glass of wine in the evening absorbing the beautiful view of the stars and moon . The Loire Valley / Sarthe region

Mézeray is situated within easy reach of the Le Mans race circuit. This is also in excellent horse riding country, set in the Vallée du Loir, a tributary of La Loire which it joins at Angers. It benefits from the mild gulf stream and enjoys relatively short, mild winters. Summers are reliably hot and usually last well into autumn. The Loire was the playground of the Kings of France for centuries and is thus lavishly provided with gorgeous châteaux, gardens, churches and other places of historic interest. The small-scale capital cities of Le Mans, Anger and Tours (all within 45 minutes) are well worth exploring.

The Chalet is situated in the 35 hectares of Haras de L'Aunay, a private race horse training/breeding yard. You can watch the race horses in training from your balcony.Our brood mares will start foaling in April, so early visitors will have the pleasure of seeing the new foals. The Chalet, with its private garden and barbecue area, is ideal for relaxing. With 50 kilometres of traffic-free routes are perfect for the keen cyclist. Why not bring your own horse on holiday good hacking on bridleways through local forest, stable and first class stable accomadation for your horse.

This is an ideal holiday just to relax or take in the beauty of France. We are happy to help you in anyway we can to make your stay welcome, just ask. We would just reccomend you bring extra towels if you are a keen swimmer for after the pool. The local tourist information board is very helpful and you can hires Bicycles on a daily or weekly basis. You can book a meal on a boat trip or hire your own boat for the day or weekend choose as you like. There are many reatraunts where you can sample real French cusine. Up on your arrival you will be welcomed with a bottle of local wine made from a good friend Vineyard he is also a proprietor of Racehorse's.

You are welcome to visit his Vineyard where you will be greeted with open arms he takes great pleasure in showing you the facilties and sampleing his fine wines. He speaks good English but please speak slowly so he can understand and translate the conversation.

Our Welcome Pack for humans includes a bottle of wine (of course!), French bread, water, milk, tea, coffee, sugar, cereal for breakfast, salad etc.

CANINE CONSIDERATION
Friendly dogs are welcome, for the animal lovers who can’t bear to leave their dogs in boarding kennels. There’s plenty of scope for good country walks for you and your dog. A Dog Welcome Pack comprising meat and biscuits is provided F.O.C.
If you are going out for the day or evening and want to leave your dog at home (your holiday accommodation) we can take your dog out for walks and ‘pipis’ at no extra cost - just give notice when the service is required.
This is an ideal location for your best friend to take a holiday too and im sure you dog would rather be with you than in kennels.

Please be aware that we have three friendly dogs and race horses training on the gallops.

EQUINE CONSIDERATION
Why not bring your own horse on holiday good hacking on bridleways through local forest and you can have the experience of riding on our 1.1/4 mile training gallop. With A1 stables accomadation your horse will have a nice holiday with you too. for further details and prices please email or call Karen Ann.

Smokers are asked to be considerate – please don't smoke in the bedrooms, swimming pool area and sauna (or throw stub ends in the gardens!).
We would recommend that you bring extra towels if you are a keen swimmer.

What a place to take a holiday. Had a great holiday my Daughters stayed in the annex and my Partner and myself had the Chalet to ourselves. Nice people made us very welcome and we all loved the in door swimming pool and patio area which we would have a BBQ at night on the patio dining set absorbing the beautiful country side. We are coming back next year for 2 weeks and my daughters are staying for a month. Well recomended by all plenty to do if you like or just to relax and pamper yourself. What a nice place we stayed for 5 days from 11th July 2009 for 5 days, We found the people warm and welcoming. We loved the swimming pool nice clean accomadation and relaxing . 18th July to 22nd August 2009 Stayed for 5 weeks we are school teachers and just wanted somewhere to relax where we could take our dog Nelly on holiday with us. We stayed in the Chalet and my retired parents decided to join us for our holiday and stayed in the Annex the arrangements worked out very well. Plenty of tourist information was provided by the host and my mother and I cycled and my husband enjoyed walking with our dog. We found it very private you can just relax or read a book or go sightseeing. Nice local restaurants and exelent weather definatly got a sun tan. Would recomend this location without a doubt. 23rd to 27th August we stayed at the Chalet whilst touring France very nice people made us welcome and clean accomadation we also enjoyed the swimming pool. With many Vineyards to visit we purchased wine and champagne and we also purchased some local potter. Great holiday would come back again without hessitation. Richard & Sara Spencer.

27th August to 2nd September great holiday we chose this accomadation for the swimming pool as our son is learning to swim and it was ideal for him. The weather was great it we were taken back at how hot it was. Our host made us very welcome my husband plays the Guitare and we had BBQ and whilst my husband sat and played around the BBQ we sang songs. He said the accustics in the swimming pool were great. Exelent holiday well situated did not want to go wished we could of stayed longer. Coming back next year with my sister and her husband hope to stay 3 weeks also considering a Christmas break if we can get the time from work. Well recomended. Clair Down 2009

Hi Karen and Benoit, horses, dogs, cats and rabbits!


Thanks very much for your nice email. We had a lovely time at the chalet and felt like part of the family, one of the best holidays we've ever had! It was sad to leave so early and although Paris was nice in hindsight we'd have loved to stay on longer at the chalet.

We definitely want to come back next year and are deciding the best dates etc and will let you know very soon. When does it start to get hot around your parts? (oooh errr mrs!!!)

Stewart's been busy with his music since we've been back as he's playing a music festival this weekend but promises to email some mp3s of some tracks he's recorded later next week and we'll send the photos as soon as we've downloaded them onto the computer.

You live in a lovely area of the world and we found everyone we met to be very friendly. Please pass on our regards to Jackie and his family, tell hime the wine's wonderful, hic! Stew's on the wine as we speak - the giggles will come in a minute!
Tell Benoit the cheeses were excellent - I bought one very thin slice of French Goat' cheese at the weekend and it cost 67pence - extortionate! Didn't taste as good either!

Can't wait to share some more food and wine around the campfire with you both, we'll have to bring some songsheets next time so that we can all sing along.
