Picture a typical Cornish fishing village and what do you see? Winding cobbled streets? Colourful boats bobbing in the harbour? Pubs, restaurants and shops which reflect the passions and skills of the local community? Maybe you imagine there will be coastal walks along high cliff tops, passing sandy beaches and leading to hidden coves just waiting to be discovered. In fact, you are imagining Mevagissey, perhaps the archetypical Cornish fishing village, and from where visitors find it easy to explore the Lost Gardens of Heligan, the tropical biomes of the Eden Project, the Tall Ships harbour at Charlestown or just enjoy the wonderful scenery of this part of Cornwall.
