The Peloponnese region

The region of the Peloponesse is the southern most point of mainland Greece, and in fact, an island, since the completion of the Corinth canal in 1893.
The Peloponnese is the perfect destination for your holiday in Greece. Stunning sandy beaches and crystal waters, Olympia - the birthplace of the Olympic Games, ancient cities, the ancient theater of Epidaurus, and so many other wonderful places that are worth visiting.
Medieval remains, old Venetian castles like Nafplio, Methoni and Corinth, the Towers of Mani and the Byzantine places of Monemvasia and Mystra all make the Peloponnese a truly magical region in Greece, and one that offers such a vast wealth of natural beauty.
The Peloponnese is also ideal for holidays "off the beaten track", where you can truly explore all the magic that this region has to offer. There are peaceful and secluded areas all over the region, offering tranquility and beauty, making it the perfect destination away from the hustle and bustle and overcrowding but on the same can offer you the cosmopolitan City of Klamata..
The regions of Messinia and Laconia, located at the south of the Peloponnese are very popular destinations and have lovely sandy beaches, and a very
Relaxing and picturesque setting.
The site of Ancient Olympia is one part of the Peloponnese that everyone should try and visit. It was here that the original Olympic Games took place in ancient times, and visitors can gain a fascinating insight into the origins of the Games. You can visit the museum as well, which houses a wonderful range of
Exhibits and findings from the area.
The whole region of the Peloponnese can be described as a paradise for those who are interested in the archaeological and ancient ruins that can be found everywhere. There are also some of the beautiful artifacts and objects that have been found during excavations of the various ancient sites.
The region in the Peloponnese offers something different from the others, and when visiting through the region, you can begin to appreciate just how magical and special this stunning region of Greece really is.

Over the years I have some experience of beautiful villas, but Villa Elsie was definetely one of the best, if not the best. The setting is perfect, the house is big, always cool in the middle of summer, perfectly well kept and maintained by lovely people, the pool is at the right temperature! The situation is also ideal for touring around, towards Mani, Mystra, Pylos and even Olympia, the all compass rose! Kalamata is close enough and yet far enough: you can reach it easily but also see it from far enough. We recommand the nearest taverna, Georges, Giorgious, so accomodating people. Great by all means! We will be back!

We couldn't have a better choice of a place where to spend the last vacation.
2 families of 9 guests. Luxuriously appointed Villa Elsie with a large pool, is set in an absolutely quite location minutes away from Kalamata city and the sea. Surrounded by stunning views of the mountains of Mani and the Kalamta large bay.
The villa is beautiful designed. The bedrooms are gorgeous and handful including a private bathroom to each. They all open onto a large terrace with a breathtaking view all around the sea, the sunsets and the mountains behind you. Also 2 cuddling living rooms in the house. The major one has a TV/DVD stereo set, large variety of CDs with movies and music from around the world. There are also lots of books and info to read and games to play.
The villa is only 20 minutes away from lively and authentic Stoupa with its sandy beaches, taverns and amenities. We enjoyed the location of the villa while making daily traveling to Pylos, Mystras, and Sparti, Aeropoli and Diros Caves, Kardamili and many more sites.
The pool was a highlight of our stay. It is large enough for the swimmers and joyful for the water players. While enjoying some of the taverns we also self catered at the villa. There is a walking distance grocery, and large supermarkets downtown Kalamata.
We'll definitely return soon.

We have just returned from 2 weeks at Villa Elsie - it was a lovely place to chill out, gaze at the spectacular view, and just get away from it all.
The bedrooms are light, airy and roomy, and the bathrooms are great. There is a large barbeque down by the pool, and the large balcony is a great place to watch the sunset.
There are plenty of places to visit, from the lovely pavement cafes on the Harbour front at Kalamata, to the old square in the city centre - and only a 35 min drive away are the beautiful towns of Kardimili and Stoupa. Kardimil has beautiful little boutique style shops and a lazy elegance, and Stoupa has 2 amazing sandy beaches great for the sunbathing and excellent for children - with lovely clear warm water.
