Villa Castel di Tusa Villa 4 persons with sea view The holiday home Castel di Tusa (Me) is a twin villa located approximately 400 m from the sea and 350 m from the train station, in a quiet residential area immersed in a luscious green environment. Looking on to the Tyrrenian Sea, only a few minutes drive from Cefalu' (15 km) and just in front of the Eolie Archipelago, the Tusa holiday home is ideal to enjoy a sea-oriented holiday in Sicily without losing the occasion of visiting the natural parks of the Madonie or the Nebrodi. The nearby beach and the fishing community are enchanting and our guests will be able to appreciate the bar with ice-cream parlour and typical Sicilian food 'Porto Marina', the restaurants 'Atelier sul mare' and Giannino (Regional Cuisine in Santo Stefano di Camastra), the Lido dei Draghi - and for those fond of archaeology, the archaeological site of Halesa. The Sicily region

Sicily, right in the heart of the Mediterranean sea, has a cultural heritage unsurpassed by any other holiday destination. It's array of historical rulers have provided the island with unique architecture, art and traditions. The coastline is dramatic and beautiful (like the people) and the towns are a bustling hubbub of activities.

In the centre of the island sits the majestic Mt Etna, a still active volcano. A trip to the top is a must.

Being in Italy, and having such a rich history, Sicily has a wonderful selection of food & drink. The various cultures and natural local produce combine to make dishes that can be found nowhere else in the world.

4/5

"Well-located property with character in a charming, traditional fishing village."

Castel di Tusa is a charming little fishing village with a handful of restaurants and pizzerias, a snack bar and a supermarket. This property is about 400 metres from Tusa train station and Cefalu and Palermo can be reached easily and cheaply by train. The property is up a steep hill though, so, I wouldn't recommend this property for those with mobility problems, unless you have a car.

We went out of season, so it was great for a relaxing weeks holiday. The photos of the property on the letting listings accurately reflect the condition of the property. The property owner (Mr Messineo) is a very charming man and very kindly brought us a gift of some cannoli (Sicilian pastries) from the Porto Marino snack bar and there were a few basic provisions in the property when we arrived. Mr Messineo only spoke a little English, however, if we had any questions or problems, the letting agent (Mr Giambalvo) gave us his mobile number to contact him at any time.

The views from the property are excellent due to it's elevated position and the Eolian Islands (including the volcanic Stromboli) can be seen on a clear day. The gardens are enclosed, well maintained and quite spacious.

The property was well furnished, but we thought it might benefit from an electric kettle and a comfy settee.
