The Sicily region
Mediterranean climate nice temeprature from April till October, also a good escape from cold winter of northern Europe. Ancient history of Sicily allows nice tour of place like Taormina, Palermo, Agrigento (Greek temples) from Portorosa within 250 Kms on the motorway.
Messina / Portorosa area
Portorosa on the north-east coast of Sicily 50 Km. from Messina. Right on the ovest side on top of the hill where Tindari sanctuary is located you can get a nice unique lookout on the Mediterranean sea and Eolie islands. Portorosa is 45 minutes by boat from the magnificent eolie islands, you can enjoy from here a full day cruise to the place.
How to get there
Fly to Catania, take the motorway to Messina (100 Km) after Messina going on the same motorway to Palermo take the exit Falcone (50 Km from Messina). Fly to Palermo take the motorway to Messina, after 170 Km take exit to Falcone.
