Beautifully restored 18th Century French farmhouse with tommettes, and exposed beams and period charm in rural setting, only 1km from nearest village and is set in nearly 2 hectares of lush green countryside.
This farmhouse which dates to before the French Revolution, was completely renovated less than 15 years ago, using traditional methods and materials and offers all modern facilities whilst retaining period charm.

The Loire Valley / Mayenne region

Situated halfway between the historic towns of Chateau Gontier and Laval in the heart of Chateau Country.
Picturesque landscapes with gently rolling hills and meandering river valleys, with frequent locks and mills.
This is a region rightly famed for its Chateaux, with splendid examples scattered around the area.
Situated close to the Mayenne River, which is one of only four in France where night fishing is permitted, and is a haven for a wide variety of wildlife.

Meslay du Maine / Ruille Froid Fonds area

Numerous music, dance and theatre festivals occur throughout the year as well as the Christmas markets and spectacular lights.
Local attractions include the Refuge de L'Arche (an animal sanctuary and wildlife park), St Denis du Maine which has a lake with swimming, boating, fishing, mini golf and cycle paths, The Garden at the End of the World with children's play areas, historic towns, and prehistoric sites.
Local Catholic church services and Protestant churches at Laval and Angers.
Le Mans is only 1 hour away with its Motor Museum and historic Cathedral.
Chateau Gontier has a market on Thursdays selling a wide variety of local produce.
This region is also a haven for horse enthuasiasts with riding schools nearby and major horse racing and trotting at Meslay du Maine and Le Lion D'Angers.
Golfers are also well catered for many courses nearby including a 27 hole golf course at Laval, we can arrange golfing holidays on request.

How to get there

By Air

Flights to Paris from most major UK airports, and to Rennes, Tours, Nantes and Dinard (all within 2hrs drive)from selected UK airports. Car hire available at all airports.

By Train

Eurostar to Paris.
TGV from Paris to either Laval or Sable, both only 20 mins away.

By Ferry

Ferry to Caen only 2 hrs away, Le Havre and St Malo 2hrs 30mins away.
