The Rhone / French Alps / Savoie region

The Three Valleys - "Le Plus Grand Domaine Skiable de L'Univers" - boasts 185 lifts with 600 km of skiing on 293 pistes, not to mention the fabulous off-piste and glaciers also existing in the area. Snow cannons are also numerous in each of the resorts (Courchevel alone has 523) ensuring good quality skiing all season long.

Meribel area

Located in the central valley of the legendary Three Valleys, Méribel is the ideal base from which to explore. From idyllic tree-lined valleys beyond Courchevel 1650 to the East, to year-round snow on the glaciers of Val Thorens (the highest ski resort in Europe) to the West, it's all within easy reach.

It is also unquestionably the prettiest of Three Valleys' resorts, for which it owes much to its founder, Peter Lindsay. When he began the resort's development with architect Christian Durupt, great pains were taken to ensure that new buildings retained the rustic savoyard charm of the region - an ethos that has been preserved to this day.

Après ski in the truest sense of the word creates the image of steins of lager and dancing in ski boots. This can indeed be found in Méribel in the form of the Rond Point - a respectable piste side lunch-time restaurant which, at around 5pm each evening, turns into a toffee vodka-fuelled dance floor with a live band.

For those of you who are looking for something a bit more laid back, there is La Taverne or the Pub which have live music most early evenings, and if it is cocktails and sophistication you are after then Le Poste would be your port of call.
There are two night clubs in Méribel: Dick's Tea Bar, predominantly English, has various fancy dress nights and music to suit all tastes. The Loft has a more french feel and is the place to go if you are into the dance scene.

All bars in Méribel are open until 1.30am and Dick's and the Loft are open until 4am, if your bed or the first ski lift are not calling you.

How to get there

Fly to Geneva or Lyon and transfer of 2-2.5 hours from there. We can organise your transfers for you.
