Jerry and Bettina, the owners of Chalet Bartavelle, would like to welcome you to their charming chalet in Meribel. Our emphasis is on personal service, attention to detail and fantastic food.
Jerry is a chef with 20 years experience, working in Australia, France and some of the best restaurants in London. As Senior Chef, he was part of the management team behind Oxo Tower restaurants and previously with Harvey Nichols V Floor Restaurants. Now he offers the same high standard of food here at Chalet Bartavelle and each winter he will put together a mouth-watering menu for you to enjoy.
The chalet offers a warm, welcoming feel. It was converted from a barn in 1974 and was re-renovated to a high standard in 2002 and so it is a blend of old charm and modern comforts.
The chalet sleeps 8 to 10 people and has a large living/dining room with a log fire and comfy chairs, in which to relax after a long days skiing. We have a good supply of books and games for your afternoon and evening entertainment, a stereo with CD player and high speed, wireless internet access. The chalet has one floor with 3 bedrooms (2 doubles and 1 twin) and a mezzanine (twin), sharing two bathrooms and another floor with an additional large double bedroom, a bathroom and an additional living room with tv, dvd player and sky freeview.

The Rhone / French Alps / Savoie region
Chalet Bartavelle is located in the small hamlet of Le Cruet, close to Méribel, in the heart of the Three Valleys.
This area of the French Alps is ideal for skiing and snowboarding holidays. The Three Valleys, consisting of Méribel, Courchevel and Val Thorens, is the largest ski area in the world and it offers fantastic skiing and snowboarding facilities for all levels. The Three Valleys have over 600 kilometres of pistes and more than 200 ski lifts and you will find enough black, red, blue or green ski runs to satisfy you, whatever your need. For those seeking a powder challenge, there is endless off-piste skiing and snowboarding in Méribel too.
Meribel area
Méribel boasts a wide range of activities other than skiing. There is a sports centre built for the 1992 Olympics with an ice-skating rink, heated swimming pool, sauna, Jacuzzi, steam room and bowling alley. A Cinema, numerous shops, restaurants, bars and nightclubs combine to make up the superior facilities of Méribel.
Le Cruet is a typically rustic French hamlet. The chalets in Le Cruet all have individual character, giving the hamlet a unique feel.
Le Cruet has the advantage of being only 5 minutes drive from lively Méribel, with its many activities and night life and being even closer to the small village of Les Allues, with its local shops and restaurants. Le Cruet itself is peaceful; the perfect place to relax and enjoy the amazing views.
In the mornings we will take you up to the lifts in Méribel and pick you up again in the afternoon. In good conditions it is possible to ski to the door. There is also a bus service, which runs between Meribel and le Cruet, in case you should want to come back early one day. Should you want to go out in Méribel after dinner, we will be happy to take you up there and make sure you have details of taxis to get back home again
How to get there
At 1 hour away, the closest airport is Chambery. Alternatively you can fly to Geneva, Lyon or Grenoble, which are all about 2 hours away.

Prices are for the rental of the chalet as a whole sleeping up to 8 people and includes:
- 7 nights accommodation
- Breakfast and afternoon tea
- Pre-dinner drinks and canapés followed by a 3 course dinner with wine on 6 evenings
- Twice daily transfers to and from the lifts
(on our day off we will be happy to recommend and book a restaurant for you)
It is possible to sleep an extra 2 people in our mezzanine and for this we charge a small supplement of €350 per person per week for food and drink.
