About the home

'Le Pamela' is on the sea and has a large lounge with one balcony, and a double bedroom with a 2nd balcony also looking out to sea. The 2nd bedroom is small with a small en suite and the galley kitchen is modern and compact. Underfloor heating and air conditioning make it suitable all year round. Wi-fi and internet available.

There is a lift. The views are wonderful and the apartment is really bright and literally on the sea and prom!..with swimming across the road. The airport bus stops almost at apartment and buses to airport, Nice and Monaco stop across the road from the apartment. Views of sun rising, fishing, cycle races, walks and sometimes, the annual Lemon Festival from balcony.

Menton is on the borders of Italy, has 300 days of sunshine and is famous for its lemons and protective mountains which help to create this micro climate. The apartment is on the prom, 5 minutes walk from the town fashion shops and casino and beside restaurants, and markets. The old Italian town and vieux port are 10 minutes walk away and are full of atmosphere. Monaco takes 15 minutes by bus. The famous and spectacular Corbusier walk along the coast to Monaco takes one and half hours. Local & tour buses visit a number of picturesque hillside villages like St.Agnes, Gorbio, Dolce Aqua and Mercantour Park.

It has an easy relaxed style and is an ideal holiday location for all ages. Car parking is available on streets outside the apartment and there is a car park beside the apartment also.

This is used mainly by family and friends and has all necessary items to make it comfortable and pleasant.
Balconies are large and are ideal for dining al fresco or simply watching the world go by. A feeling of being on the sea is rather therauptic as you relax.

(There are 2 single beds in main bedroom, which can be put together as a double. Small bedroom has a large single and there is a sofa bed in lounge which is suitable for one or can be extended for 2 but is best left as a single!)

There is a feeling of being part of the town with Christmas lights and Lemon festival (February/ beginning of March ) lights which usually hang all along the promenade.

If arriving by air, Menton/Monte Carlo bus is outside door of airport and journey is wonderful with super views of coastline. It takes approx 1hour 30 mins. and will drop you at door of apartment. Goes on the hour.

The famous Lemon Festival is held at end of February and christmas is a wonderful festival time here.

Further details outdoors:
Large terrace means that dining is possible there and views are wonderful. Table and chairs on terrace. All shops are just munutes away. You can swim or sit by the sea which is across the road.

Restaurants are all within walking distance. Sailing school is 5 minutes from apartment and tennis courts are across road.

Bus to Monte Carlo and and Nice across road. Airport Bus also across road but 2 minutes towards town side, so don't miss it. Trains to Italy and Nice or Cannes 8 minutes away.

We like to have people who may become friends and also do have people who return a few times during year. Like long term letting of a month or two.
Lettings are from Saturday but we can be flexible.

Guests to vacate at 11am and new arrivals to arrive from 2pm to allow for cleaning.

The Provence Alpes Cote d'Azur / Alpes-Maritimes region

Menton is on the borders of Italy, the Principality of Monaco and the Comte de Nice. It is a paradise of exotic gardens and little perched villages like Ste-Agnes, which claims to be the highest coastal village in Europe. Menton was visited by Queen Victoria and the Empress Eugenie. It was home too of the great artist Jean Cocteau.

The Menton area

Menton is the perfect location for visiting the chic resorts of the French and Italian Riviera as the local train stops at all the famous towns like Monaco, Villefranche, Beaulieu, Eze, Nice, Cannes, Ventimiglia, San Remo.

The famous Lemon Festival is on at end of February and beginning of March (Free 3rd to10th March !).
Places to visit are Monte Carlo and Monaco. You can walk The Corbusier Way (the spectacular cliff walk) from Menton to Monte Carlo, along the pathway beside the sea in two hours, and swim in the beautiful coves, or relax and dine at some of the seaside cafes on the way.
Visit the hill top village of Gorbio, where on Thursday after Corpus Christi in June, the annual rite of Procession des Limaces takes place.
Visit Europes biggest market in Italy, in Vintimille on Fridays.
There are tennis courts across the road fromthe apartment, a swimming pool and a beautiful new marina as well as a sailing and diving school 10 minutes walk from the apartment.

Fly to Nice via most airlines including Easy Jet, Aer Lingus and Ryanair.

* Ryanair now goes from Dublin to Nice. Check Special offers from them and Aer Lingus.
Car hire at airport.

* We find a car is not needed in Menton, which makes for a more stress free time!
A bus at airport goes on the hour through Monte Carlo to Menton and stops outside door of apartment. This takes approx. 1 hour 15 minutes and the views on the way are magic!

“Stress Free Seaside Sojourn” Arriving in Nice airport with parents in law, hassled wife and excited one year old could have been a stressful occasion. However, we had been given very accurate directions to the express bus which delivered us to its stop not 50 metres from the door of the apartment. Less than an hour to the door and the key was available as we had been told it would be. The apartment is first class. On the seafront, to the extent that you'd almost be afraid of falling into the sea! All mod cons are provided, including WiFi, which we all seem to need these days. Everything is available to cook your own lovely meals from the shops which are very close by (3 -4 minute walk), but why bother when a helpful list of wonderful local restaurants is provided? The beach is directly across from the apartment. The old centre of Menton is a very short stroll away (or again buses are easily available), and if feeling more adventurous, Nice is a leisurely one hour away (cost €1!!!). In summary, five of us stayed comfortably in La Pamela; two couples and one baby (cot provided), ranging in ages from 1 to 70ish (I'm not allowed to be more accurate on the latter!). All enjoyed our stay and will return. When the holiday was over we crossed the road (maybe 20 metres) to the express bus stop and 50 minutes later we were at Nice airport. This is luxurious South of France the easy way! Enjoy!

“An enjoyable stay at Le Pamela” We enjoyed a superb 14 days at Le Pamela. The weather is great, the beach is at your feet and the appartment offers all comfort one can ask for. All booking was handled fluently.

Living here in Le Pamela apartment., is like being on an ocean liner!
Swim before breakfast was magic as I waved to my friends on the balcony to make the coffee!
I loved the idea of simply crossing the road to swim, fish or just sit on the rocks.
Buses to Monte Carlo, Nice and the hill villages across the road.
A new bus which goes along the coast right to the Italian border!
Loved Lemon Festival - 2010, it is held from middle of February to beginning of March..

2 minutes from town, with its interesting shops and the morning and evening buzz, but loved coming back to the comfort of the apartment on cool evenings.
Buses across road to get to Monaco, Nice or up to mountain villages.
Trains 10 minutes away to Italy and French coastal towns.
Loved the sound of the sea and the panoramic views to Italy and towards Monaco.

Like being on a ship even as I sat at the dining table.
