About the home

This first floor apartment has just been renovated and is across from the beach in a period building with lift .The flat is right in the centre of Menton, seconds from the Casino and long promenade. It is comprised of one double bedroom, a sitting room with an open plan kitchen with two big windows,and a large shower bathroom. The sitting room has a comfortable sofa bed and the separate bedroom also has sea view. S

hops, Cafes, restaurants, markets and the station are on your doorstep so no car is necessary. Minutes away from glamorous Monte Carlo and the stunning ga rdens and museums of Menton, Nice and Cannes are all worth visiting.

The Provence Alpes Cote d'Azur / Alpes-Maritimes region

The Mediterranean area is spectacular boasting a micro climate and sunshine for over 300 days of the year. Enjoy swimming in the summer months, ski during the winter, walk in the Parc du Mercantour and visit Italy. Beaches are all along the coast and stunning mountains lead you to discover small villages with local cafes and restaurants. Make the most of Nice, Cannes and glamourous Monte Carlo. Palm trees and beautiful gardens are all around.

The Menton area

Menton is famous for its Lemon Festival that takes place in February/ March which animates the town. Menton boasts a micro-climate and you can find yourself sitting at cafes and restaurants outside in a t shirt during the winter months. There are beautiful gardens to visit, ,museums, and of course many hours can be spent relaxing on the beach or walking along the sunny promenade. The old town with its car free streets is pleasant and the local market is full of local produce and delicious cheeses and Wine. In August Menton hosts a classical music festival and the famous Musee Cocteau is worth a visit. Nearby mountains set a spectacular scene. Ski resorts are an hour away from Menton in Italy or France. Close to the Principality of Monaco (six minute train ride), why not visit the famous Grand Prix route, or visit the Casino in Menton and Monaco. Of course Nice with its many museums, old town and flea market on a Monday is worth visiting and only 20 mins by train.

Fly to Nice with Easyjet, BA, and summer schedule Aer Lingus from the UK. From Nice airport you can take the direct Express Coach to Menton (50 mins) and the coach stops a minutes walk from the flat. Alternatively if you hire a car; take the motorway and in 25 mins you are in Menton "La Perle de France" with its sub-tropical climate and lovely promenade.

Major car hire companies have offices in Nice and Menton such as Avis, Hertz, Sixt and Europecar

Menton is easy to get to using the efficient french train service. A TGV high speed train travels to/from Menton-Paris daily. Menton has excellent rail connections to Monaco, Nice, Cannes, Villefranche and neighbouring Italy - San Remo, Ventimiglia to mention but a few.

Menton is a great base to discover the magical tourist locations such as Eze and St Jean Cap Ferrat; as well as the much loved Cap Martin a short walk from Menton. Cap Martin, a real gem where the likes of Winston Churchill, Coco Chanel, and Le Corbusier spent many happy vacations near the sea in a fragrant and light filled environment.
