The Sicily region

The Elemi, Phoenician, Carthaginian, Greeks, Arabs and Normans settled the Western side of the island. In the past this area was called “ Val di Mazara; it includes hilly landscapes covered by rich Olive groves and well grown vineyards. Along the costal landscape you can admire not only beautiful beaches of golden sand that look over the African sea, as well as stretches of rock coast suitable for snorkelling and pleasure craft.

This is the area of Tonnara” (Tuna fish processing farm), of “ Blue fish”, of the “ salt routes ”, of the Zingaro, of Moscato and Marsala, “ “ Liquid Gold”, of the Temples and Mosaics. Selinunte is the biggest archaeological park in Europe.

Places to visit: Selinunte 12 km, Agrigento 80 Km, Sciacca 30 Km, Erice 100 Km, Segesta 60 Km, Marsala 50 Km, Trapani 100 Km, Palermo 115 Km.

Menfi's area is maybe the most important area for wine, there are some of the top Sicilian wineries.

"This is a beautiful villa in an idyllic location"

If you want a luxurious villa in a tranquil location the Aphrodite is perfect.
We were a party of 5, including 2 teenagers and their 84 year old grandmother and everyone was happy. There is a lovely garden and we cooked and lived in the large garden kitchen the whole time using either the barbecue or the genuine wood pizza oven. The two bedrooms were comfortable but the third room had bunk beds and was a little small for two.
The pool is superb and one of the largest I have seen in a private villa.
The owner was very helpful and accommodating allowing us to pick fruit and vegetables from his adjacent field and even gave us the use of a scooter.
There are some lovely restaurants in the area and some beautiful beaches within 10 mins in the car.
Overall I would have no hesitation in recommending this villa to others.

"Tranquil, relaxing and super welcoming owners - delightful""

My stay at Villa Afrodite was simply amazing – very peaceful and relaxing. The owners gave us such a warm and friendly welcome and looked after us so very well. The villa itself is roomy, clean, comfortable and ideally situated for a secluded escape from reality … which is exactly what we were looking for.

This was my first visit to Sicily and I have to say I love it …. A true adventure from start to finish, sight seeing, visiting the coast, Mazara del Vallo is a real gem, wonderful local restaurants – stunning food and wonderfully hospitable people. Would definitely say that I would love to visit again.

"Lovely place for relax and quiet"

The overall experience is very positive, the owner of the villa cuold have not welcome us better then he did, we met him in menfi around 10pm and he took us to a near by restaurant called villa adriana, which we raccomend, he waited for us to finish our dinner then he took us to his villa which was just beautiful, the villa which is near a natural reserve is a nice place where to relax and enjoy some time off away from the chaos of the big metropolies. The near villages of Menfi, Porto Palo and Selinunte offer a bit of activity to do during the day, though i strongly advice to hire a car, not only because is the only way to reach the villa but also because will allow anyone visiting Sicily to view more of this wonderful island. The near by restaurants and pizzerias offer some of the most delicious food I have ever taste. The only down side of the property is the little kitchen supplies, like glasses, plates forks, knives and so on, the dish washer was on every evening.
