In a charming small residence is Casa Regina ( 60 m2), it is on the first floor which has large french windows opening up to the splendid 16 m2 terrace with 180 degrees view over Lake Como.It is situated in a quiet are, but 2 min walking to the mainroad and water side and 10 mins to the little town Menaggio.
The residence is newly built and Casa Regina is very well furnished in a modern way.
the living room consists of a sitting and dining area, sat. TV, CD player, open fully equipped kitchen. Bedroom with double bed.
the bathroom has shower and washing machine.
Private garage, speedboat with skipper can be hired from us against payment. We would be pleased to take you for a waterskiing ride and a panoramic round tour on the lake.

The Lombardy / Lake Como Area
Menaggio is on lake Como in Lombardy halfway on the north-west shore, at 35 km from Como and 25 km from Lugano.Milan is at 60 km.
Climate: being on the south side of the alps , we benefit from a sheltered position against the cold winds from northern europe . We have a very pleasant temperate climate, springtime starts in April and the warmest month is July ( 30degrees C) , but we are favoured with a lovely afternoon breeze, so it is never too hot. The winters are coldish ( 0-10 degreesC) but bright and sunny, it hardly rains, but it may snow once or twice, so that the mountain tops all around remain white capped. We ski in St. Moritz, Madesimo, Gotthard or San Bernardino mountain area at 90 mins by car.
Lake como was already known to the romans (roman churches and archeological sites), from the 12th century the area was a way-through for trade or less peaceful wanderings. From the 18th century wealthy famlies from Milan built their summer houses and some of them can be visited and the park are famous ( villa Carlotta in Tremezzo, Villa Balbianello in Lenno, villa Melzi in Bellagio).
Como is the capital of this region and has a charming hystorical centre, is known for its silk industry and in the good shops you may find your bargain to take home.
A day trip to the lovely alps ( St. Moritz is famous and wonderful also in summer, at 90 mins by car) , but also around the lake we have mountains up to 2500 m with lots of hiking trails, wonderful view points, small hamlets to discover , most of them you reach also by car.
Menaggio area
Menaggio is a lively little town with a weekly market where the locals from the surrounding mountain villages meet for a chat and bring their goat cheeses for sale. Menaggio has cosy piazza's , narrow streets with trendy shops, some good restaurants and pizzeria's, and a stroll on the boulevard in the afternoon and evening is a must. On higher grounds is the oldest golf course of Italy with a very tricky green and also with a renowed restaurant where it seems the beautiful and famous meet,. Filmstars and footbalplayers have discovered lake como and live here most of their time.
In Menaggio you cross the lake and visit Bellagio or Varenna which you reach by ferry, all you take a full day trip all over the lake by the tourist boat stopping everywhere.
How to get there
Fly to Milan airports Linate or Malpensa or Bergamo budget airport, Menaggio you reach in 60-90 mins by car. Public transport from airports to Como railway station, then by bus ( 40 mins)
By road through Switzerland Gotthard tunnel, get off at Lugano, follow Italianborder, Porlezza, Menaggio.
By road from South Italy: Milan, autostrada to Como, exit Como Nord, follow Menaggio

We have a speedboat which we gladly let to our guests against payment ( we are the skipper and show you the beautiful unspoilt spots and take you for a waterskiing ride) and if you bring your own boat, there is a " marina" at 2 minutes from the apartment, where you can moor your boat. Rates depending on length range from euro 16 to euro 50 per day, plus launching-removing charges.
