The Lombardy / Lake Como Area
Lake como arguarbly provides the most serene setting in the whole of Italy. Set in the shape of an upside down wish bone, the lake is nestled between huge mountain scenery visible from either side of the lake offering an idyllic backdrop to the dolce vita Italy is so renowned for. The milder temperature the lake enjoys present a comfortable climate to relax and recuperate from gentle lakeside walks to lazy afternoon lunches amidst majestic lakeside scenery. The deep blue waters of the lake offer an enticing invitation for an afternoon dip or for a boat trip to one of the quaint villages that surround it. For lovers of flora and fauna a short journey will take you the grand gardens of Villa Carlotta or for sheer breathtaking beauty visit romantic Villa Balbinello with its fairytale lakeside location.
Famed for its jaw dropping beauty, the lake has long since attracted many famous names to its shores from Shelley and Longfellow to Stendhal and Liszt to modern day luminaries such as Versace and Clooney . In fact the recent final scene in the latest James Bond adventure was filmed here in Menaggio at Villa Gaeta (see picture).
Futher afield Monza (formula 1), Milan ( Italy's capitol of industry and fashion)and Madesimo (skiing)and St Moritz in Switzerland(skiing, shopping and people-watching) are all within easy reach. Menaggio / Loveno area
Menaggio is perfectly positioned to enjoy every aspect of the lake. From the ferry stop you can take a leisurely boat trip to beautiful Bellagio, the quintessential lakeside village perfect for a day out meandering around the narrow cobbled steets whilst admiring the art or picking up some silk or leather souvenirs. Locally here in Loveno you can play tennis, swim at the near by hotel or snack at the local pizzeria or excellent restaurant all just a short walk from your home. Venture out to Varenna, another impossibly beautiful lakeside village or take the boat to Como city for a fascinating day out. Lesser known than its bigger brother of Milan, Como nevertheless ticks all the right boxes when seeking out the typical italian city. Perfectly formed piazzas, breathtaking gothic 14th century cathedral, stylish shopping, narrow cafe lined alley ways and here you will find history in abundance including the Alessandro Volta's musuem famed for his invention of battery back in 1801. Menaggio is a town with international tourism flair. It's 30 km from Como city away and 23 km from Lugano (Switzerland). In Menaggio you will find a different selection of sport activities: sport centre, tennis courts, jogging area, small harbour for boats and motorboats, Golf course with 18 holes, swimming pool with beach and it is possible to swim in the lake. In town: lake promenade and pedestrian area, for shopping you will find a large selection of shops, boutiques, supermarket. Restaurants, pizzeria, cafè and ice-cream parlors for gourmets. For daily foods, 2 supermarkets in town and many department store in the surrounding area. Thanks to its geographical position, Menaggio is an ideal departure point for walking tours or excursions by boat or by car. Switzerland is not far from Menaggio: you can easily get to Lugano in half an hour and St. Moritz in 1 hour and 45 min.

The property benefits from huge picture patio doors with open to your private balcony ideal for an aperitfo or to take in the view of the lake across to Bellagio.
The comfortable sofas are the perfect place to unwind and relax with satellite tv (english channels available) plus wifi access available. The kitchen features all mod cons inc dishwasher (a washing machine is also available)and is is ideal for rustling up a feast using the abundance of fresh, italian ingredients available in and around the village. The living also features a stylish rustic dining table.
The master bedroom includes a double bed and addtional single bed for a third guest and en suite bathroom.
The second bedroom features a twin bed. The bathrooms ( 1 en suite) include hydromassage bath in 1 bathroom and a shower in the other bathroom.
Further details outdoors: The apartment has a space for car parking immediately outside the home. Private entrance, the home is split into two-this apartment is the first floor penthouse with an additonal apartment downstairs.
