This apartment is situated in a beautiful villa, built at the beginning of the 1900’s, in the centre of the very popular town of Menaggio, one of the most well known tourist resorts on the western shores of Lake Como. It is in the centre of the town, with shops, restaurants, and all services including banks, cinema, shops, restaurants, post office, pharmacy, and internet point, all within walking distance, in fact the local store is opposite the main entrance of the building and the local market is set up in the street running along side the villa. The Lake and ferry point is five minutes away on foot and from the main terrace there is a wonderful view of Bellagio and the centre part of the lake.You will be able to live like the locals and take part in the many festivals which take place in Menaggio during the summer months.

Being centrally located and nearby shops and all facilities, but at the same time the Villa Ada is not on the road and so not noisy. You will feel like one of the locals as you sit on the roomy terrace watching life carry on around you as well as checking on the ferries which go to and fro accross and along the lake.

Together with these factors and its pleasant climate, Menaggio has been a renowned tourist resort for more than a century and the beautiful villas give testimony to this fact. If all this is not enough, this is a must for GOLF lovers. The famous Menaggio/Cadenabbia 18 hole international golf course is 2 minutes' drive away.

The Lombardy / Lake Como Area

Lake Como, surrounded by mountains, hills valleys and cities of art, has much to offer. It is situated in one of the most economically and industrially important regions (Lombardy) in Northern Italy, nestled between Lake Maggiore and Lake Garda, right on the Swiss boarder, framed by the majesty of the alps, where different cultures have merged over the centuries to form it’s unique and inimitable charm. We enjoy a varied climate, generally snowy winters, mild springs and warm summers, but being near the water, never too hot and then we have our mountains to escape to just in case.

Menaggio area

Menaggio is one of the most important towns on Lake Como.It sits on the western branch of the lake at the foot of the 'Val menagina?, the valley which links Lake Como to Lake Lugano. It is opposite the towns of belaggio and Varenna, and very convenient for visiting the rest of the lake by car of the frequent ferry service which operates from Menaggio.

The oldest golf course in Italy is 1 km away, there are spectacular views from the greens and a wonderful club house, where fine food is served in a very exclusive atmosphere.

In Menaggio there is also a 'lido' where you can swim safely in the lake or choose to swim in the 2 pools available. There is also a mini golf course. The old town is at your doorstep and it takes 2 minutes to walk to the lake front, where in the summer months there are always local festivities to enjoy, for example in May the flower festival.

Menaggio is located on the western shore of Lake Como, at the mouth of the Val Menaggina, where there is a fork in the Via Regina for Porlezza and the Swiss Lake Lugano. The views are outstanding, looking southwards across at Bellagio, down the Lecco branch made famous by Alessandro Manzoni’s verses in the ‘Promessi Sposi’. The Retain Alps are clearly visible in the background and reflect their natural colours in the lake. The natural beauty has inspired artists and poets and has always attracted tourists who want to enjoy the wonders nature has created here.

From Menaggio, you can visit the nearby Switzerland, Lake Lugano is a must and St. Moritz, the famous ski resort is a 2 hour drive away.

Fly into any of the 3 Milan airports, Malpensa, Linate, Bergamo, it's an easy drive.
Ryan air, Easyjet and all major airlines fly to Milan.

The apartment is in true Italian style, with high ceilings and wooden floors. It's always cool in the summer, even without air conditioning, becaue of the thick ancient walls which protect it from the sun. It has 2 big balconies, one facing the lake, big enough for 'al fresco' dining and sun bathing and one facing the old part of the town. The apartment is completely furnished and is fully heated, air-conditioning is not necessary as the thick ancient walls protect the apartment from the heat in summer months.

The apartment is 90 square meters and has two bedrooms, one bathroom with bathtub/shower, kitchen, and large lounge/dining area, the ceilings are decorated with stucco works, which have recently been restored by local craftsmen. the entrance hall of the building has a large imposing stairway. There are two balconies, one overlooking the very typical town centre and the other with wonderful views of the lake, where ‘al fresco’ dining and sunbathing is possible. In the apartment there are original oak parquet floors throughout.
