Venture through the little side streets and sample one of the delicious italian regional delicacies or just take in a little people watching in one of the many lake side cafes whist enjoying a piping hot espresso! The golf club in Menaggio( George Clooney is a member here!) is close to the apartment. Local shops for fine italian silk and leather.Mini market bank and internet point situated in the village. Take the ferry to beautiful Bellagio from the village or pop down to Villa Carlotta in near by Mezzegra for gardens and lake views par excellence! Drop in on Como town for churches, piazzas, shops and lakeside scenery in abudance. Or take the train to Milan, a haven for fashion enthusiasts. What's more charming Lake Lugano, which borders Switzerland is just 6 miles away!

The Lombardy / Lake Como Area
Lake Como for rest, relaxation and spoiling oneself. That's what makes the lake such a desirable destination. Marvel at the panoramic views from the balcony in this idyllic away from it all location of the apartment. ake Como arguably provides the most serene setting in the whole of Italy .The deep blue waters offer an enticing invitation for an afternoon dip or boat trip to one of the villages that surround it the lake. For lovers of flora and fauna, Villa Carlotta is 15 mins drive or Villa Balbianello with its fairy-side lakeside location is a further 5 mins drive or fans of James Bond can view Villa Gaeta here in Menaggio. Milan is 75 mins away for Formula one, fashion and Football.From the ferry stop here in Menaggio, you can take a leisurely boat trip to beautiful Bellagio, the quintessential lakeside village perfect for a day out meandering around the narrow cobbled streets whilst admiring the art or picking up some silk or leather souvenirs. Venture out to Varenna, another impossibly beautiful lakeside village or take the boat to Como city for a fascinating day out. Lesser known than it's bigger brother Milan, Como nevertheless ticks all the right boxes when seeking out a typical Italian city. Pretty piazzas,a breathtaking gothic 14th century cathedral, stylish shopping, narrow cafe lined alley ways and here you will find history in abundance including Alessandro Volta's musuem famed for his invention of electricity back in 1801. Alternatively take the train to Milan from Como city (30 minutes)and view the impressive duomo, Galleria Vttoria Emmanuale glass domed shopping mall and Leonardo Da Vinci's last supper painting! Monza grand prix (formula 1) or The San Siro football Stadium, home to Inter & AC Milan are all just over an hour from the apartment. Menaggio is very close to the Swiss border, so day trips to Lugano-should you wish to visit a different lake-is possible. Menaggio / Grandola ed Uniti area
The area as you would expect is flanked by many pretty harbours, shingle beaches amidst glorious lakeside scenery. Menaggio is probably the principal lakeside village on the west coast of the lake with it's piazza, ferry, palm lined walks, restaurants, bars, beach, swimming pool, banks, taxi service, bus stop, gelateria's, laundry, internet point all at your disposal. Stroll around the pretty piazza of Menaggio with it's plethora of cafes, restaurants serving delicious regional cuisine, small boutiques with personal attention from a seemingly bygone age and the best homemade icecream in Italy (if the locals say so themselves!)Or take a gentle excursion along the lake where you can view the lake in all its' splendour. Alternatively, put your feet up, uncork a bottle of wine and do the same from your balcony.
