Casa Mary is special because it seems that the lake is really in the house, with you. And for some reasons this is true: all the apartments have a balcony with a beautiful view over the lake and mountains, and from the garden you have direct access to the lake. The garden is completely furnished and useful for afternoon teas, sunbathing or simply picnics, as it features comfortable deckchairs and nice tables. Casa Mary consists of 7 apartments ( approx. 40m2), completely renovated and furnished. We offer availability for the following types: . 2-3 pers. "studio" on the ground floor with small terrace and direct access to the garden. On the upper floor 2-4 pers. apartments with balcony and 4-6 pers. apartment with large terrace for alfresco dining.

The Lombardy / Lake Como Area
The house is on the Lake Como which is in Lombardy. Lake Como is 50 km long and has two branches, one starting with the town of Como and the other starting with Lecco. Where the two branches meet lies the pretty village Bellagio.
Lake Como is one of the most beautiful in Europe ( certainly the deepest!) and is situated in a basin at the foot of the Alps and surrounded by mountains with lovely valleys good for walking, hiking and mountainbiking.
As lake Como is very close to Switzerland, some of these valleys are the high-pass way for hikers. In the winter the tops and the higher valleys are often snow covered. The shores of Lake Como alternate between pictoresque villages leaning out on the water, small gravel beaches, pleasure harbours and water sport areas for windsurfing, sailing and water skiing.

We have returned from a very enjoyable holiday. We found the apartment to be excellent and the couple who looked after it to be very helpful ( our luggage was delayed and they where invaluable in getting it delivered to us.) Dear Lucia, Thank you for your email. We had a wonderful holiday in Lake Como - Mary apartment was lovely - just right for the two of us and with a beautiful view of the lake. It was great to wake up in the morning to the sounds of the lake lapping below us! Mrs Marilena and her husband were a very sweet couple and excellent hosts, picking us up from the ferry dock and bringing us to the apartment and dropping us off again when it was time to leave. The apartment itself was very spacious, quiet and nicely furnished and the kitchen had everything we could possibly need. The short walk from the apartment to the centre of Menaggio was also great so that we could walk off some of our lovely Italian dinners on the way home! I certainly think we got very good value for money and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to friends. Thank you very much, Ellen & Ian

There was much more space than we thought and the view was better than the website phot showed - awesome!! Mrs Marilena and her husband were very helpful and friendly. Dear Lucia, I just thought I would send you a quick note to let you know that my parents have just returned from their 2 week holiday at your apartment Miralago in Mennagio. Despite some rather heavy thunderstorms, they had a fabulous holiday at Lake Como. My family have looked through several hundred photos, listened to their stories and heard about the wonderful restaurants where they dined. The apartment was perfect for them and they were very impressed by the level of care and hospitality shown to them. My wife and me have spent fantastic holidays at Lake Como, the apartment we rented was very nice and clean, very good price/quality. We arrived by means of public transport and the housekeeping couple was very welcoming, friendly and helpful. I am a wheelchair user and they did everything possible to help us - even went to the supermarket with us. Dear Lucia, We are happy to give you feedback about our stay at Mary, which we thoroughly enjoyed. The location of the apartment was perfect with a fabulous view over the lake. It was well equipped for people wanting to cook for themselves, very clean and comfortable. We appreciated the good firm bed, and the comfortable sofas. The managers of the apt were friendly and helpful, even giving us a ride to the bus stop with our luggage on our departure day. The price of the apt was very reasonable, and very good value. The only issue for us was the requirement that the apt could only be rented for a week at a time, starting on a Saturday. We had to re-arrange some of our other plans to make that work for us. However, while we originally thought perhaps a week was longer than we wanted to be there, we found lots to do, and between the hiking and exploring the lake towns had never a dull moment. We were there without a car, and found the bus service along the lake good for getting us to and from the hiking trails. We would highly recommend Mary to others, and would love to return someday.
