Nestled in a small residential enclave on the Menaggio hillside, this semi-detached townhouse property (ID 70) offers beautiful and versatile accommodation over two floors!

Guests enter through an attractively laid front garden which leads them to the front door on the Ground floor, which boasts a very spacious and sophisticated Living and Dining Room, with a large L-Shaped sofa, TV with DVD player, a cosy fireplace and a large Dining area. Doors lead out onto a spacious decked Terrace with sunloungers and outdoors Dining table and chairs. A BBQ also features here making it an ideal occasion to enjoy ‘Alfresco Dining’ in the evenings!

The varied views include wonderful aspects of the central part of Lake Como with its serene waters and dramatic mountain peaks, as well as the surrounding mountainside.

The ground floor also provides a very spacious and well presented fully-fitted Kitchen which is contemporary in design and offers all the desired appliances including a coffee machine.

A Master Bedroom suite is also situated conveniently on the Ground floor, offering a stylish leather Double Bed and charming interior as well as a contemporary luxury En-suite Bathroom.

To the first floor of the property further Bedrooms feature which are versatile and so making them ideal for family stays. The second Bedroom features a Twin Bedroom with two single Beds, stylish interior and charming sloping wooden ceilings.

The third Bedroom, also situated on the first floor is extremely spacious and also features wooden sloping ceilings, as well as a divider wall in the room which separates the space to create 2 private sleeping areas which each offer a Double Bed and beautiful furnishings. A wooden screen also enables extra privacy for guests.

The property now has an IPOD Dock system and a Coffee Machine is also installed.

Outside the property a parking space is situated along the peaceful resident driveway which leads off from the main road out of Menaggio town towards Porlezza on Lake Lugano.

Guests should be aware that a car is advisable due to the hillside location of the property. It is just a 5 minute's drive from the centre of Menaggio town, which is situated on the lakeshore and which boasts a wide variety of general as well as Boutique shops, charming Cafes in the main Piazza and along the promenade, lake view Restaurants, friendly Bars, public Swimming pools and Beach and a fast and frequent Passenger and Car Ferry service to many other pretty lakeside towns including Varenna and Bellagio.

Golf:
There are Golf clubs around Lake Como: The Menaggio & Cadenabbia Golf Club is Italy's oldest golf course. Established in 1907 with 18 holes Par 70, it is located above Menaggio near Croce, in Grandola ed Uniti, approx. 20 min. by car. Tel: +39 344 321 03. Green Fees: Weekdays €55, Weekends and Holidays €70 Euros; Golf Cart Rental €36.

Restaurant Golf at the club serves fantastic food and is well recommended.. Guests are always welcome, please call beforehand to check course rules. Golf Club Menaggio: (Menaggio Como).

Skiing:
This beautiful lake region of Italy is not the best for skiing as you may imagine, despite its scenery, crisp air and near perfect visibilty and mountains capped in winter snow. It does however have Skiing opportunities at local resorts for a day out.

There is a small ski area on Mt. Lema, not more than 10 km from Lugano, but you have to be lucky to have enough snow for skiing. In Ticino, the local Swiss Canton, the best places to ski are probably either San Bernardino (south of the pass of the same name) or Airolo (south of Gotthard pass). Both are reachable in about 1 hour by car across the Swiss border.

There are direct trains to Airolo as well from Lugano and hence from Italian Stations. To S. Bernardino there is only a bus connection. For more snow try Andermatt (on the north side of Gotthard pass) which has normally good snow conditions and a good choice of runs.
The closest major ski resorts are St. Moritz and Madesimo toward the Splugen Pass which is approx.100km.

The Menaggio area

Menaggio offers stunningly beautiful views of Lake Como and the majestic mountains which surround it overlooked by the Alps to the North. There is a fine selection of restaurants, delis, fresh grocers and of course delicious gelato and pizza! To keep you moving and fit while on vacation: play a round of golf at the infamous Menaggio & cadenabbia Golf Club, mini golf, hiking trails, mountain biking, free climbing, swimming and a new orienteering field all located in stunning locations -these are just a few possibilities offered to you in and around Menaggio. There is a museum dedicated to Leonardo da Vinci at the new “Lido Giardino” and in the Val Senagra Park, a museum featuring the value of antique buildings, artisan and peasant objects and creations. Other culturally rich events including music, fireworks, public markets and local festivals are to be enjoyed.

“A Little Haven” This property is like a Tardis It has excellent facillities, is well situated and the view of the Lake is simply stunning. The accommodation is very comfortable and it is well equiped. There are 3... more

“Overlooks very busy road” This house is lovely inside but unfortunately outside really lets it down. It is a stones throw away from the main road from Menaggio to Switzerland. The traffic never stops and the noise is constant 24 hours a day making it hard to sleep at night. Even with the windows shut and fans on you couldn't drown out the noise.It is described as being on a peaceful side road but the busy road is only 50 metres from the door. It has a decked terrace with great lake view to the left ,which can be seen in the advertised photos, but the rest of the outlook is of the road. There is absolutely no privacy as everyone can see in as they drive by. The decking on the terrace is uneven and our two year old tripped a few times on it. There is plastic, dirty outdoor furniture so not a great place to dine alfresco on an evening. The house is well furnished inside, apart from the door to the dishwasher missing, and is well equipped. The floors could do with a clean though, they leave your feet black! Also as we were staying two weeks we were suppose to get a change of bed linen and towels which didn't happen even though we had paid a service fee for this. The house is well located if you have a car but walking into Menaggio involves walking on the main road for a bit. Also the hospital is opposite and the air ambulance helicopter lands just across the road which is exciting to watch but scared our children when it arrived in middle of the night.
